College Commitment – Kyle Bittle (2025 Crater)
OIT has become a national powerhouse and it's even more special due to the fact they have focused their recruiting efforts on in-state players. That has continued this recruiting year for the Hustlin' Owls has they have continued to get commitments from some of the top players from Oregon. The most recent to commit was
Kyle Bittle

. The all-around 6-foot-5 swingman from Crater made his pledge last week and it was something he felt was the perfect fit both on and off the court.
"I love the coaches and the culture and it's a great program and I think the academics are great," Bittle said. "I think I'll fit in really good. They play a bit of positionless basketball, run the court with a pretty high pace of play. (There's a lot) of ball movement that I really enjoy. They play a switching man to man and I think I can match up with a multitude of different players."
"They get to the rim and kick out for 3's often which I think is a great offense," he continued. "The coaching staff has a lot of faith in me and for my development and I can't wait to get on campus with them."
OIT had long been on Bittle's radar - largely because his father Ryan Bittle was a standout there in the mid-90's. There was no question that played a role in the younger Bittle's decision but for the most part, he was able to make his own decision.
"He is just happy I am continuing playing basketball," Bittle said. "Obviously he was a little biased but I knew he would be happy for me wherever I went. It feels great I mean he's a great guy and has had a great life and career because of OIT and I'm following right after him. He was very excited when he heard I got an offer to OIT and he is very happy I'm going there."
Bittle was on his way to having a tremendous senior campaign at Crater and was averaging over 20 points per game until a patella tendon injury sidelined him for the rest of the year. While that was a disappointment for sure, he's still going to look back on his past season with plenty of good memories.
"Before the injury things were going good I think we were 6-2 or 7-2 and rolling and playing pretty well," Bittle said. "I'm going to remember how fun it was traveling with all my friends and just playing along side some of my best friends."
Bittle currently ranks as the #27 player in the Class of 2025 rankings. Our congratulations go out to Bittle and his family on his decision.
