is headed to the Mountain West Conference. After making the shift to Rosemary Anderson Prep for his final two years of high school basketball, the athletic 6-foot-6 wing accumulated recruiting interest from a variety of levels but one program at college basketball's highest level decided to give him an offer he couldn't refuse. Griffin announced on Monday that he will be headed to the Air Force Academy.
"It is an opportunity to play Division I basketball in a great conference at a school that matches my basketball and career goals," Griffin said. "I did get chance to visit the facilities were one thing that stood out to me and the city of Colorado Springs. Offensively the ball moves well in their program and they like to shoot catch and shoot 3's so I think that will fit into my game along with opportunities to be athletic in transition and through lots of back cuts."
The plan is for Griffin to spend a year at the Air Force Prep school and then enroll at the Academy itself. It's an opportunity he's extremely excited about and while there's no question he knows there's still plenty of work ahead of him to get ready for college basketball's highest level, he feels the past couple of years at Rosemary Anderson Prep has helped him get to this point.
"Playing against high level competition everyday in practice and then when we travelled helped the most," Griffin said. "Right now one of my main focuses is getting stronger."
Our congratulations go out to Griffin and his family on his commitment. He currently ranks as the #10 player in the recently finalized Class of 2025 rankings.
