Here is the field for next week's Class AAAA State Tournament seedings, and why.

(1) Cretin Derham Hall (27-1) vs (8) Moorhead (22-7)

I think CDH with one loss and second ranked in the state is the easy one, Moorhead losing to Anoka and having seven losses puts them at eight despite the QRF of 10 which is tough as they are forced to play several North Dakota schools because of location and it makes sense, but how do you really put that in a QRF?

(4) Apple Valley (23-6) vs (5) Maple Grove (21-8)

Apple Valley is the ranked top ten team that made it, that gives them the four, Maple Grove beat Anoka, they beat top ten Champlin Park twice, and they beat Park Center three times. Lost to Edina in the opener and had the most losses in the field, but their list of wins is more impressive than that of JM, Anoka, and Moorhead, and again, they beat Anoka.

(2) Wayzata (25-4) vs (7) Rochester JM (25-4)

Wayzata is the easy two for me having beaten to ranked Hopkins twice and winning 25 games against a tough schedule. JM is a scary team, they are long, fast and athletic, they are a wild card. But they also lost to Burnsville, and they lost to Anoka by double figures. You could argue them for eight but at only four losses I say seven

(3) Shakopee (23-5) vs (6) Anoka (23-6)

Shakopee is a top five team right now, they have played great basketball the second half of the season. Anoka lost to Maple Grove but they beat JM and Moorhead. Pretty easy.
