March 15th-16th I attended the Attitude of Gratitude High Academic Camp. There were exactly 60 campers with 6 full teams.

It was a unique experience for the campers since actual college coaches were the camp coaches of the 6 teams. A bunch of new players were at the camp and the players that shined had the college coaches talking to them after the games.

Here were some of the standout Freshmen and 8th Graders

[player_tooltip player_id='2641713' first='Jayden' last='Davis'] Sandra Day O'Connor (Pictured)

A two-way combo guard had one of the better showings from his class. He scores with in-traffic takes, mid-range jumpers with high elevation, threes off the catch with deep range and step thrus impressively. He is a physical on-ball defender using his long wingspan and twitchy athleticism.

[player_tooltip player_id='2773900' first='Colin' last='Burke'] Gilbert Chrisitan

A quick on quick point guard who can defend. He will hit the three off the catch and the mid-range pull-up off the dribble with a high arc. His speed is unmatched by most freshmen and he will drive and kick to make a play. He is also a ball hawk with his quick feet and speed.

[player_tooltip player_id='2149115' first='Marcus' last='McCaster Jr'] Phhoenix Prep

A very strong combo guard will shoot it off the dribble from the three but he is also patient in the post to score. He is a stout on-ball defender with his strength and rebounds the ball well for his position. He is a natural downhill player and he can thread the needle to a teammate.

[player_tooltip player_id='2471533' first='Jake' last='Grossman'] Notre Dame Prep

A scoring combo lead guard is a quick driver as he can get downhill with his left or right hand. He will dribble drive it thru traffic to score with some hard takes using some toughness. He is also a sneaky good passer and competitive on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='2251690' first='Innocent' last='Onwo'] Phhoenix Prep

A super physical bigger combo guard or lead guard with real size already for an 8th grader. The lefty can score with mid-range pull-ups, fade aways, inside buckets using his physical strength and offensive rebound put backs.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812700' first='Thiago' last='Esquivel'] N/A

A tough and scrappy scoring point guard who will fight for every play. He will hit the three point shot and scores it well in transition with contested layups despite his size. He will defend with quick feet and hands and pesters his opponents up the court. He has a fast first step and if the defense sags off of him, he will calmly knock down the three. He is possibly going to Central.
