Friday Morning I was up early to catch the third place games for 2A and 3A. This gave the teams a final chance to go out with a win and finish the season on a good note. Here are the top players from both games.

2A Christ The King vs Peoria Manual

[player_tooltip player_id='2105266' first='Darien' last='Green'] CTK 2025 6'3

Green made the best of his last high school game. He scored 21 points on 9-15 shooting. Darien is a bigger guard who shoots the ball well from deep but also strong enough to out-muscle guys around the basket. He has been consistent with scoring around 20+ points this season. Darien is a small school/Juco college prospect who can help a school right away.

[player_tooltip player_id='2539984' first='Aaron' last='McClure'] CTK 2025 6'6

McClure in his final game went out with a bang. He notched another double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds against a heavily favorite Manual squad that some picked to win state. Aaron is a thick bodied forward who eats on the glass and is a physically imposing big man. He made a strong two-handed slam in the fourth quarter that led to the Trojans run and put away Peoria Manual for good. He is very athletic and aggressive. Find it hard that most jucos in the country haven't offered him. Aaron will be a hot prospect in the next month.

[player_tooltip player_id='1576114' first='Dietrich' last='Richardson'] Manuel 2025 6'7 (Bradley)

Richardson finished his high school career in solid fashion. He scored 11 points and pulled in rebounds in the loss. The Braves are getting a very skilled guard who can play multiple roles in college. He showed how well he can get to the basket and be a scorer or passer. For a potential lead guard at the next level, he's not afraid to crash the boards and get a little physical.

3A St. Patrick - Chatham Glenwood

[player_tooltip player_id='1385287' first='EJ' last='Breland'] St. Patrick 2025 6'2 (Pitt St)

EJ was able to pick up his productivity in the second half after only having 5 in the first two quarters. Breland looked good attacking the basket to draw defenders and kick it out to teammates for buckets. When he beat guys off the dribble he made pull-up jumpers and knocked down a few three-pointers. In his final game as a 4-year starter he ended with 11 points and 6 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='2823605' first='RJ' last='McPartlin'] St. Patrick 2026 6'6

RJ was able to create some space in the paint to score an efficient 10 points. He was 5-6 in the paint. He moves so well for a big man his size. I think most may believe he's not coordinated but McPartlin is solid as they come in the post. He also grabbed 6 boards in the win. RJ will be a player who can get some small schools on notice this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2538879' first='Mason' last='Neumann'] Glenwood 2025 6'7

The long and athletic forward had a very good second quarter in the third-place game. He was able to make some open shots from the corner against the 1-3-1 defense. As the game went on he was able to inch closer to the basket and put down a two-handed slam as well. Mason looks to have a 7-foot wing span and uses it well on both sides of the ball. On defense he managed to grab 6 boards and rejected 1 shot. He led both teams in scoring with 15 points.
