The RCS Sports Spring Ice Breaker definitely broke the ice to start the AAU season featuring top level talent that caught the eyes of many spectators that attended. Here in this article, I will be discussing five game changers that impacted their respective AAU team during the tournament. Don't be surprised if these five are mentioned even more as the AAU season continues.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560939' first='Jacoby' last='Lovings'] is a three level scorer that can fill up the stat sheet points wise if the opposing defense lets him get comfortable getting to his spots. He went off for 25 points against a formidable Fam Elite 2026 Jackson team followed up with other great performances as well throughout the weekend. Controlling the point guard position for Elevate U he is constantly playmaking to his teammates in different situations on offense. If he blows by his defender with his quick first step and handle, he creates 5 on 4 situations which puts opposing defenders at a disadvantage. In these situations, he was good going downhill dumping passes to bigs inside, finding cutting teammates and making the right passes on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2554999' first='Conor' last='Robison'] great defensive rebounder that's puts in great effort to secure stops on that side of the ball. He is very aware on defense reacting to almost any shot that came inside the paint from opposing players. With his awareness defensively he protects the rim very well and is also mobile on the perimeter being able to guard multiple positions where he doesn't get beat often. Offensively, he excels in the post as he possesses footwork that I don't see too often from high school players in general. When you watch Conner go to work in the post his touch around the rim is evident, making a good percentage of those opportunities during the weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='2558243' first='Jaiden' last='Sudler'] is a craft playmaker that makes plays for himself and others offensively. His crafty play style consists of him initiating contact on his drives to the rim in ways that throws off his defenders, getting to his spots in the mid range where he pulls up comfortably and putting his teammates in positions to easily score. Jaiden has great IQ making smart decisions while he has the ball in his hands rarely making mistakes as well. The 2027 guard has so much room to expand his game as I wouldn't be surprised if more people started to talk about him more over the remaining AAU season.

Romerey Mateus was a beast at the RCS Sports Spring Ice Breaker tournament as he averaged 25 points and 12 rebounds throughout three games. His best performance was when he recorded 35 points and 17 rebounds on 72% shooting from the field against the Dallas Da Fam Puma team. Romerey has a high motor on the glass impacting both ends of the floor as you can see from his rebounding numbers. Offensively he is a threat from range but can also finish well around the basket where he uses his strong frame to create space from his defenders. Romerey is not scared of contact either as he goes up strong no matter who is in front of him on his way to the basket. Defensively standing at 6'8 he contests shots at the rim providing paint protection for his [program_tooltip program_id='2822044' first='Ice' last='Tre Elite'] Team. With him in the class of 2025 I can really see him step into a college program and contribute right away.

Chris Reed is an interesting player to keep your eyes on as the AAU season progresses. Reason being he has the potential to expand his game even further due to his frame and high energy production. Offensively he excels very well with his ability to drive to the basket especially in transition. When playmaking he finds open teammates within his own pace making the right pass when the opportunity presents itself. Defensively he possesses a long wingspan which allows him to block shots, cover ground against opposing players in multiple positions on the court and come up with steals. Chris was able to record 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks in his game against the Houston Knights.
