At the beginning of December we had 350 players to rank for the 2025 class and I kept it at 350 despite some new players being added.

38 players are new and some have moved to different states, focused on different sports, and went into the 2026 class.

Of the 38 new players, 2 only fell in the top-50, 5 in the top-100 and 11 in the top-200. The other 27 fell in the top-350.

Our goal at PrepHoopsAZ is to try and recognize anyone who may play college basketball. We will keep searching for new players in preseason camps/events/leagues/Prep Hoops Circuit, AOG AZ High Academic Camp, Arizona Top-250 EXPO, my personal Southwest Basketball Camp and during the AIA/CAA/OTE/NIBC/EIBC/Grind Session seasons.

1. 30+ players have earned a D1 offer showing this class has talent including [player_tooltip player_id='1237854' first='Jaion' last='Pitt'].

2. A fun fact about me, [player_tooltip player_id='1129193' first='Koa' last='Peat'] is the only player that started at being ranked #1 as a freshman and stayed #1 for 4 years.

3. Speaking of [player_tooltip player_id='1129193' first='Koa' last='Peat'], where is he going to college? (Rumor mill has him staying in the state for college so family and friends can watch him play at ASU or U of A.)--Time will tell.

4. There are some who are committed to D2 or NAIA like [player_tooltip player_id='1381426' first='Luke' last='Wieskamp'] (Menlo), [player_tooltip player_id='1336442' first='Zane' last='Gaul'] (Hawaii Pacific), [player_tooltip player_id='1876014' first='Tyran' last='Simpson'] (Ottawa) & [player_tooltip player_id='1674465' first='Lamar' last='Anderson'] (Ottawa).

5. Last year we ranked 0 players under 5'11 in the top-100, this year we have 2! [player_tooltip player_id='1336443' first='Uriah' last='Tenette'] of Prescott (UC San Diego commit) and the Region POY [player_tooltip player_id='1542272' first='Michael' last='Payne'] of Cholla.

6. Rankings are based on a lot of things. Production, size for position, college coaches, the eye test, ability to score and defend, instincts, IQ, how a player moves, speed, ball handling, shooting, fundamentals. length and possible upside. It is not the easiest thing to do since not all players play in the same leagues for AAU and HS. They can be in the CAA, Grind Session, EIBC, OTE and the AIA obviously has different levels. Plus AAU teams may play on National Circuits (3SSB, UAA and EYBL) or play on independent or up and coming circuits (Pangos, NxtPro, EYCL, UAA Rise, Prep Hoops, WCE, New Balance, The Stage and so on). So you put all that information together and create the rankings.

7. Of the 350 players we have 65 PG's, 71 SG's, 56 CG's, 77 SF's, 63 PF's and 18 C's.
