SWFL Postseason Standouts, Final Five

With the teams now heading to Lakeland to compete for a State Title, let's take a look back at some of the top performers throughout this year's postseason play. A number of SWFL teams made some noise in the playoffs and there are still two alive, with both Charlotte and FBA heading to the Final 4. It was a tremendous season for basketball in SWFL and some local prospects really helped put their names on the map with their stellar postseason play.    The leading scorer for the Shamrocks put together quite an impressive junior campaign. Loboda helped lead his squad to a District Title and a trip to the Class 1A Regional Semifinals. He has a tremendous basketball IQ and plays the game hard. Loboda has a smooth stroke from the outside but can also create his own shot off the dribble and attack the basket. He finished with 19 points and 6 rebounds in the District Championship game, and followed that up with a 22 point effort in a tough loss to Seacrest in the Regional Semis.     Evans has had an excellent showing throughout the playoffs in 2025, which has helped lead the Tarpons to their second-straight Final Four appearance. The 5'10" senior guard nearly recorded a triple-double in an opening round win over Manatee, finishing with 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. He followed that up with an 18 point performance, including 13 in the 4th quarter, in the District Championship, and recorded 17 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds in the Regional Final win over Wharton.     Another talented guard from Charlotte, Reyes-Sanchez, is coming on strong at the perfect time for Charlotte. The junior guard is playing some of his best basketball heading into the Final Four, where he finished with a career-high 20 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 3 assists in a win over Sunlake, and followed that up with 19 point, 5 rebound, 2 steal effort in a victory over East Lake. Reyes-Sanchez is an athletic prospect who can score inside and out, and is a great rebounder form the guard position, with his quick bounce off the floor.     Vuksanovic may be one of the most underrated players in the area. The 6'9" senior made the most of his only year with the Stingrays, and helped lead them to an appearance in the Regional Finals. Vuksanovic is a very smart player who is fundamentally sound, and seems to post double-double numbers night in and night out. He has great size and strength, and is a menacing presence in the middle. During the Stingrays playoff run he finished with 22 points and 9 rebounds in a victory over Sarasota Christian, and also had a 20 point, 15 rebound effort against Donahue Catholic advancing his squad to the Regional Final.     The duel-sport athlete and highly touted football prospect has proven he can be quite a force on the hardwood as well. Petit has elite athleticism and insane leaping ability, making him a force both offensively and defensively. At times, it seems as no one can stop him when he gets in his groove, and that showed during postseason play. Petit recorded 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 steals in a win over Carrollwood Day, followed by a 21 point performance against Bell Creek, and a 22 point effort, with some huge defensive plays, in a victory over SLAM sending his FBA squad to the Class 2A Final Four.
