The Group 2 tournaments are going to be fun to watch, especially North Jersey 2. Here are the North Jersey 2 Group 2 X-Factors.

Joe Giannetta, 6'1 SG Caldwell 2025

Giannetta has been a consistent force for the Chiefs this season and should continue to do so during the state tournament. The 6'1 guard has a good first step, which he uses to get to the rim off the bounce and finishes well around the basket. Giannetta is a gritty guard prospect whose ability to score inside and out will help Caldwell throughout the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='2339145' first='Matthew' last='Remias'], 6'9 C Rutherford 2025

Remias has been one of the top post prospects in the section and will be tough to stop down low. The 6'9 post has a solid face-up game as he can put the ball on the floor and finishes well around the basket. Remias is a force in the paint and his ability to block shots and make plays in the paint will spark Rutherford in the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='1985469' first='Gavin' last='Randall'], 6'1 PG Madison 2026

Randall has been explosive for the Dodgers, averaging over 20 points per game this season. The 6'1 guard has a clean release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Randall can also score in the mid-range, which will be something to track during the state tournament.

Johnny Chaname, G Lyndhurst 2026

Freshmen [player_tooltip player_id='2786649' first='Avery' last='Cano'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2786653' first='Filoteo' last='Mosca'] have been tremendous in their debut varsity seasons, but Chaname runs the show for Lyndhurst. He has a smooth shooting stroke and can knock down triples in bunches. Chaname has three 30-point games this season and will be looking to add to that total during the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='2421333' first='Nick' last='Petruzzeli'], 5'10 PG Hoboken 2025

Petruzzeli does a little bit of everything for the Redwings and will have a key part in their postseason success. The 5'10 guard has a quick first step, which he uses to blow by his defender and finishes nicely around the rim. Petruzzeli threads passes to his open teammates on the floor and his poise on the ball will be key to Hoboken making a deep run in the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='2342686' first='Troy' last='Strelec'], 6'5 PF Hackettstown 2026

Strelec has been a big part of the Tigers' success this season and will be looking to carry it over into the state tournament. The 6'5 forward uses his strong frame to get position down low and has a nice touch around the basket. Strelec has five 20-10 games this season and will be looking to add to that total during the state tournament.

Julian Castro, G Snyder 2025

Castro has been the top option for the Tigers on the perimeter and will continue to be during the state tournament. He has a good handle, which he uses to blow by his defender and knows how to finish around the basket. Castro can also run the offense and will need to balance his scoring with his distribution during the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='2107868' first='Jack' last='Leonard'], 6'3 SG West Morris 2025

Leonard has shown the ability to play on and off the ball this season, which will be key for West Morris in the state tournament. The 6'3 guard uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and rises up nicely on his jumper. Leonard knows how to get his teammates involved in the halfcourt and will be making plays with the ball in his hands during the state tournament.

Jackson Trevakiss, G Voorhees 2025

Trevakiss has had big games for Voorhees this season and will be looking to carry it over into the state tournament. He rarely forces jumpers in the halfcourt and sets his feet before he shoots. Trevakiss works hard on the boards and will do whatever it takes to help his team win games.

[player_tooltip player_id='2763494' first='Jayden' last='Solomon'], 6'2 CG Newark Collegiate 2026

Solomon does a little bit of everything for Newark Collegiate and will put his versatility on full display during the state tournament. The 6'2 guard plays with poise on the ball as he rarely gets sped up by on-ball pressure and threads passes to his open teammates. Solomon is capable of taking over games in the halfcourt and will look to do that in the opening round of the state tournament.

Marshal Douglass, 6'6 PF Bernards 2027

Douglass has been a force down low for the Mountaineers and will put his game on display during the state tournament. The 6'6 forward has a high release on his jumper and his range extends out to the three-point line. Douglass can also score in the paint and his ability to score inside and out will be something to watch during the state tournament.

Isaiah Green, 6'0 CG Hillside 2025

Green has been one of the top scorers in the section this season and will be looking to light up the scoreboard in the state tournament. The 6'0 guard has a tight handle, which he uses to blow by his defender and can finish in a number of ways around the rim. Green is averaging nearly 26 points per game over his last four games and will be looking to maintain his hot streak in the state tournament.

Jordan Impalli, 6'3 G Ridgefield Park 2025

Impalli has the potential to have a big state tournament wit his ability to make plays on and off the ball. The 6'3 guard rarely forces the issue in the halfcourt and uses his court vision to find the open man. Impalli is averaging 8.2 assists per game over his last five games and his ability to run the offense smoothly will be something to track in the state tournament.

Riyadh McDonald, 6'6 PF Weequahic

McDonald will have to control the paint for the Indians if they want to pull off the first round upset. The 6'6 forward gobbles up rebounds at both ends of the floor and holds his ground on the defensive end. McDonald will have to be assertive down low for Weequahic if they want to make noise in the state tournament.

Justin Nunes, G Hanover Park 2025

Nunes does a little bit of everything for the Hornets, which they will need in the state tournament. He uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and is unafraid of drawing contact in the paint. Nunes plays with good instincts on the defensive end and he'll have to generate turnover in the state tournament for Hanover Park to advance.

Adrian Rozon, G Becton 2025

Rozon is capable of putting up points in bunches this season and should do it again in the opening round of the state tournament. He has a quick release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Rozon has eclipsed the 20-point mark on eight different occasions this season and will have to do it again if Becton wants to advance in the state tournament.
