The playoffs have begun which means Minnesota Playoff Central is here and ready to roll! Thursday night was the first full night of action.

Playoff Central. La Crescent knocked off Triton 81-70 meaning a team under .500 beat an 18 win team. [player_tooltip player_id='2423202' first='Berkley' last='Mlsna'] had 19 points making all of his foul shots, A'Jaydis Patschull had ten points and seven rebounds, [player_tooltip player_id='2405439' first='Julian' last='Olson'] had 19 points with six boards and four assists highlighted by six threes, [player_tooltip player_id='2559388' first='Keaton' last='Holter'] had 16 points and, Ryan Nutter had eight points and nine boards. [player_tooltip player_id='2559388' first='Keaton' last='Holter'], a La Crescent 6'2 junior, did a great job of hitting the four threes but also supplying some energy in his effort plays. Thought he was a key part to this win. La Crescent was the more balanced team which is why they won the basketball game, and they don't get that offensive balance if junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2405439' first='Julian' last='Olson'] didn't stretch the defense with six threes made. [player_tooltip player_id='2119578' first='Pierce' last='Petersohn'] had 34 points and 15 boards in the loss.

Upset City. Cotter, who was 11-15 coming in, beat 20 win St. Charles, in a 52-51 game. Cotter got up 37-22 and held on for a one point win. The Saints roared back but came up just short. Mateo Lopez-Amor scored a dozen to lead Cotter.

The Big Stage. We aren't at a big stage spot yet, just pigtails in Class A Section 2, and a ton of sub-section quarters in Class AA Section 3. Windom Area against Fairmont is likely the most interesting game of the night.

Top Performers. Schaeffer Academy got 32 points and 15 rebounds from [player_tooltip player_id='1452981' first='Ethan' last='Van Schepen'] in a win over Spring Grove last night. Ethan is a 6'3 wing that has been multi time all league senior.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126464' first='Gavyn' last='Lorenson'] had 25 allowing Lake City to beat Rochester Lourdes. Lorenson is one of the hottest prospect names in the 2027 class right now.

[player_tooltip player_id='2104535' first='Brady' last='Kittelson'] scored 23 points leading Blooming Prairie past Wabasha-Kellogg. Brady is a future USF football player but right now he is getting double doubles for the Blossoms.

[player_tooltip player_id='1575329' first='Reid' last='Klug'] had 25 for Caledonia in a win over Albert Lea.

Tate Goergen scored 25 points keeping Southland undefeated with a 115-58 win over Rochester STEM. Tate is a multi-time all league player at 5'11 doing the playmaking.

Tip of the Hat to the Career. [player_tooltip player_id='1978846' first='Camden' last='Hungerholt'] of Leroy-Ostrander. Camden is a multi-time all league player that scored 26 points a game this season.

The playoffs have begun which means Minnesota Playoff Central is here and ready to roll! Thursday night was the first full night of action.
