Mater East Academy Advances

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mater East Academy opened the playoffs against Pinecrest Sloan Canyon. The Knights got straight to work and built a sizable lead over the Pirates in the first quarter. From there they continued to share the ball on offense, which resulted in a ton of assisted baskets for them. Sloan Canyon did their best to keep up, but they simply didn't shoot the ball enough. Credit is due to the Knights defense though, they played with intensity and made sure that the Pirates never gained any momentum. The Sloan Canyon guards had a very difficult time bringing the ball up the court when Taylor was applying pressure. His efforts led to some easy points for himself and his teammates. I liked how confidently he played, and you could tell there was zero hesitation to let it go when he had open looks. He finished the game with 11 points, and 6 of those points were from 3-pointers. His top play, was when he spun through the defense, and made a very tough finish. In addition to hitting the lay-up, he also got to the line and made it a 3 point play. He didn't let the scoreboard effect his effort and I think that speaks volumes about him. Although he could've been more efficient from the field, he was hunting shots and fighting for rebounds.
