I attended the annual Tarkanian Classic from December 15th-21st at Bishop Gorman HS, the Orleans Arena and other nearby Nevada HS locations. Many local teams challenged themselves throughout the week versus mostly West Coast competition in the prep or HS division.

Here were the standouts Forwards I watched

[player_tooltip player_id='986972' first='Quentin' last='Rhymes'] Hillcrest Prep

The Nebraska commit had it going on versus Over Time Elite City Reapers with an eye-popping 14 points just in the 1st quarter alone. He scores with tough pull-ups rising over his defenders, catch threes, dunks and gets on the glass. On defense he will come from the weak side and block shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1482164' first='Desean' last='Middlebrook'] Basha

Middlebrook is back from the transfer rule and played well. He was initially their 6th man but played starter minutes. He brings his motor and energy to get on the glass. He scores with his polished mid-range jumpers, driving layups and he even stepped out and hit the three.

[player_tooltip player_id='2550883' first='Christian' last='Taylor'] Skyline Prep

A versatile wing forward who does a little bit of everything for the team. He will rip thru in heavy traffic, score with mid-range jumpers, get out in transition and scores often on put backs.

[player_tooltip player_id='2563076' first='Adam' last='Tyson Jr'] Skyline Prep

A taller wing forward is a natural three level scorer. He scores with catch threes, he can make plays for his teammates and he is a plus athlete to throw it down. He is a grab and go type as he rebounds at a high clip and will push the rock up the court to score. He recently transferred to SCA.

[player_tooltip player_id='2560920' first='Fallou' last='Aw'] Skyline Prep

A bigger wing who can shoot and score. He will ball fake into a bucket with longer strides and will score with offensive rebound put backs plus crafty layups around the traffic. He makes his money with his shooting from the stripe.

[player_tooltip player_id='1323296' first='Matt' last='Delgado'] Boulder Creek

A bigger guard who can play the wing spot will score with rip thru and go to work using his long strides and athleticism. He will kiss it off the glass or can even dunk it on a straight line drive. He will hit the catch three and he is a versatile defender from inside and out. He is having a breakout season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2249943' first='Lleyton' last='Leonard'] Basha

A top notch freshman is one of the more active players already in the AIA. He seems to live in the paint with out of area rebounds and grabs the ball off the glass at a very high level. He will score with put backs, rip thrus and hit the three. He uses his athletic gifts when needed.

[player_tooltip player_id='2551864' first='Mouhamed' last='Sylla'] Bella Vista Prep (Pictured)

A wildly athletic post player seems to dunk the ball like it is a nerf hoop. He is an elite level shot blocker and rebounder jumping up above the box. He scores with hook shots, dunks from almost the free throw line on the break and he is now starting to try and face up to the three point line, which is a new wrinkle in his game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2551870' first='Spencer' last='Ahrens'] Bella Vista Prep

The recent Boise State commit is highly skilled. He will rattle in threes off the catch, score inside with contact and has a bunch of ball fakes he uses to score. He gets himself to the free throw line and he is your classic pick and pop type.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150843' first='Andrew' last='Bhesania'] Boulder Creek

One of the top forwards left in the AIA had a great showing in Vegas. He drills threes off the catch one by one with a pretty spin on the ball and good form. He uses his size to score in the painted area and has a good feel to make plays for his teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='1581755' first='Al'Tariq' last='Reevey'] Hillcrest Prep

A very fluid, lean and long post player. He is a quick explosive dunker and rebounder with twitchy reflexes. He springs up super quickly to grab a ball at its highest point and will score around the basket with a nice touch. He runs the floor and shows upside.
