Riverview @ Flat Rock – In Game Evals

It was the defenses that ruled the day in a slugfest between 2 quality teams. He sent a message early that baskets would be tough to come by with an emphatic block from behind. Doyle seemed really comfortable and effective working out of the corners, the left in particular, in this game. He had a pretty mid range 2 that he shot over the defender. Riverview defended him well, especially in the first half, but Goins was patient and found his openings in the second half. He played tough on the glass throughout the entire game for Flat Rock. Goins was able to score off a put back and at the free throw line. He found his groove, racking up 14 much needed points in the second half alone. Swearingen did a great job getting downhill and creating scoring opportunities. Twice he utilized a nice little spin move, one that created space for a mid range pull up and the other gave him a clear path to the lane for a layup. Junge set the tone for his team as a leader early when he hit the floor for a loose ball. He showed the full dribble arsenal going behind the back and using a retreat dribble and a push dribble. Junge split the D with his right hand, drew a foul and converted on the line. He was a grinder that seemed willing to do whatever or play whatever role was needed for his team to pick up a W. Spencer played terrific perimeter D, cutting off paths to the rim by beating opponents to their spots. He forced multiple turnovers in the game. Spencer worked hard on the glass as well. This young man can play and was fun to watch in this game. Godfrey played a very poised game for a freshman in a big league contest. He showed the ability to shoot with a mid range baseline jumper and a very deep triple.
