The Garden State high school basketball season is in full swing as half of January has gone by. There are only five undefeated teams left in New Jersey with prospects having big seasons to lead their teams. Here are the prospects powering the undefeated teams in the Garden State.

[player_tooltip player_id='2504902' first='Jamieson' last='Young'], 6'1 SG Cherry Hill East 2028

Young has been stellar for the 12-0 Cougars this season as he has been clutch in key situations. The 6'1 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Young moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups in the halfcourt. He is an underrated passer and moves his feet on the defensive end. Young has three 20-point games this season and should have more games like that as the season progresses for Cherry Hill East.

[player_tooltip player_id='2342604' first='Dean' last='Yellen Jr'], 6'0 CG Johnson 2026

Yellen Jr has been key for the Crusaders this season as he has paced them to a 9-0 record. The 6'0 guard has a good first step, which he uses to blow by his defender and finishes nicely around the rim. Yellen Jr can also score in the mid-range and rarely gets rattled by on-ball pressure. He is a solid rebounder and gets deflections on the defensive end. Yellen Jr has a pair of 20-point games so far this season and should increase that number as the season progresses.

[player_tooltip player_id='2763424' first='Markeis' last='Isley-Monroe'], 6'6 F Dickinson 2025

Isley-Monroe has stuffed the stat sheet for the 9-0 Rams as he leads the team in points, rebounds and assists. The 6'6 forward knows how to get position down low and has a nice touch around the basket. Isley-Monroe is able to get contact down low and can pass out of the post. He is a force on the boards and uses his length to influence shots around the basket. Isley-Monroe has three triple-doubles this season and will continue to light up the box score over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2763500' first='Nick' last='Baldini'], G Tenafly 2025

Baldini has been consistent for the Tigers as he's a big part of their 8-0 record. He uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and knows how to finish around the basket. Baldini can also score in the mid-range and sets his feet before he shoots. He is a strong rebounder and can find his open teammates in the halfcourt. Baldini's ability to control the glass is something that will Tenafly win games throughout the course of the season.

Joe Giannetta, 6'1 SG Caldwell 2025

Giannetta has paced the Chiefs' offense this season as he leads them in scoring. The 6'1 guard attacks the basket with a purpose as he finishes strong around the rim and is unafraid of drawing contact. Giannetta moves well without the ball in his hands and rarely forces jumpers in the halfcourt. He sets his feet before he shoots and is an underrated defender. Giannetta has hit double figures in every game except two this season, which is a reason Caldwell are 10-0 on the season.
