Smithtown West is having another playoff bound season. As always they will contend for a county title. Michael and his 19 ppg is a big reason why. But the tough physical guard is much more to his team than a leading scorer. He leads by example. A stat stuffer from the guard position. A terrific rebounding guard who can grab it in traffic and lead the break off the bounce. Strong getting into the lane where he can score or dump it off for an easy bucket. See the floor really well especially in transition.

Jonathan possesses a smooth handle. A really nice form on his jumper. A quick release but very fluid motion. A pg who likes to survey the court and then in a flash shoot it or blow by you. An excellent passer with great court vision. I have felt over the years of seeing him play he needs to be more selfish he really is a pass first guard. However this year he has taken the reins as his coach has asked and has responded averaging 16 ppg. With 33 threes and 49 two he is scoring from all three levels. Plus add his excellent percentage from the free throw line.

Strong bodied player . Great frame and physic. Tough as they come with willingness to learn everything he needs to get better each game. A relentless motor. Outstanding scorer off the bounce or catch . He finishes with athleticism , toughness and skill. Scoring at a 17 ppg clip this season. Punishes you on the drive and then adds insult by converting at the foul line.

Our #18 ranked player in our preseason picks raised some eyebrows. But it looks pretty good now in fact I probably should have put him even closer to #10 than I did. An outstanding shooter from beyond the arc. Averaging 20 ppg. Has had 10 games with three or more 3's. Also doing it off the bounce now as well. An added dimension to his game which is now at a new level. An excellent rebounding guard using his long arms and length. Has put himself in the conversation for Suffolk county player of the year.

This young player has really blossomed . Averaging 16 ppg. Can knock down the three or score inside. Can flat out score the ball at all three levels. Excellent pull up game as well. A good rebounder and has become a better rim protector as he gains more experience.
