JP Taravella v SLAM Game Report – 1/11/25

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Taravella High School took on SLAM (Sports Leadership And Management) from Miami earlier today and it went down to the wire. The final score was 54-52 in favor of SLAM but the Trojans put up a strong fight. He has great body control and soft hands on the catch. Lindor was able to power through some of the Trojans defense and get to the free throw line to convert as well. Lindor also is a solid shooter and can put the ball on the floor if defense is closing out on him. Taylor caught and scored almost everything that came his way. He was setting strong screens and rolling hard to the basket and the guards were finding him on the cut. Taylor showed a flurry of post moves to draw his defender in the air or to try and initiate contact. He plays at a rapid pace but is controlled with his ball-handling and shooting. Diaz can stretch the floor extremely well but also has a strong first step to get into the lane and drop a floater before the secondary defender pops up. Though he finished with 18 points, Florea displayed a very good shooting stroke and I'm sure more shots will fall for him during the remainder of the season. With a compact and repeatable jumper, he can shoot from anywhere on the court, has great vision over defenders, and can handle the ball well enough in scenarios. He finished this game with 10 points but showed a high level understanding of his positioning and offensive schemes.
