BELLFLOWER — Monday's Trinity League matchup between St. John Bosco and Santa Margarita featured two of the state's top programs and many highly-ranked prospects on the state and national levels. The Eagles came away with a much-needed 67-66 victory to stay in the hunt for a Trinity League title on a last-second three-point shot from [player_tooltip player_id='1956520' first='Brayden' last='Kyman'], a shot that was the culmination of a furied fourth quarter comeback. Below are five things we came away with after that game.

Kyman's Clutch Gene Activated at the Right Time

Monday was a bounce-back game of sorts for [player_tooltip player_id='1956520' first='Brayden' last='Kyman'] as the 6-foot-8 forward avenged a poor performance with one that was crucial to Santa Margarita picking up a big road win. The Washington State-commit finished with 17 points, including five three-pointers and the shot that put the Eagles ahead for good and left Bosco with less than a second to go on its final shot.

Bailey Making Strides as a Point Guard

[player_tooltip player_id='1956542' first='Kaiden' last='Bailey'] is one of the premier guards out west in the 2026 class and he has made his name up to this point as a high volume scorer who can fill it up from any and everywhere on the floor. While the 6-foot-3 junior still has that scoring punch in his arsenal we noticed in this game he was making it a point to dish to teammates and control the tempo of the game. Bailey finished with 19 points and eight assists, including the one that resulted in Kyman's game-winning three.

Harrington Taking Next Step in Development

[player_tooltip player_id='1630620' first='Elzie' last='Harrington'] is regarded as one of the smoothest, smartest and most savvy decision-makers on the west coast and has been a high IQ playmaker since his first-ever varsity game as a freshman at Bosco. The 6-foot-5 USC-bound senior has taken his scoring to new heights this season and has become a reliable perimeter shooter which bodes well for his next-level potential. Harrington leads the Braves in scoring (17.7 per game) and assists (5.3 per game) and finished with 19 points, six assists and four steals in the loss.

Collins Established As National Prospect

The hype around Bosco's [player_tooltip player_id='2131780' first='Christian' last='Collins'] has gone from whispers to a full-blown national campaign making him one of the most coveted wing/forward prospects in the country. The 6-foot-8 junior is in the early stages of his development and, if his production already is any indicator of what's to come, he's surely a prospect for the highest of high major programs to come and get. Collins is an elite athlete with an NBA frame and an inside-out skill-set that gets more polished each time we see him. What makes Collins such an intriguing prospect is how hard he plays on both ends of the floor and his willingness to defend and rebound at a high level. Collins is averaging 14 points and 10 rebounds per game this season, including 5 games of 14-plus boards.

Komin's Division I Potential

[player_tooltip player_id='2742225' first='Chris' last='Komin'] is one of the best unsigned seniors in California and the debate surrounding him still being available is if he is a legitimate Division I prospect. The Bosco shooting guard was committed to Division II power Point Loma for a brief period of time before re-opening his recruitment and he has some local low major programs keeping tabs on him. One thing that Komin does well that translates to any level of basketball is shoot the three-point shot off the catch. Komin is averaging 12 points per game and is shooting 41.3 percent from three on 104 attempts. In our estimation, Komin is the perfect candidate for a redshirt year at the right Division I program where he can get stronger in the weight room.
