LA VERNE — With the holiday high school basketball tournaments all but wrapped up, we wanted to put together a list of the top players we saw by position. In this piece we recognize the top guards we watched in the Platinum Division at The Classic at Damien.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630617' first='Brayden' last='Burries'] | 2025 | Eastvale Roosevelt

Burries was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player after leading the Mustangs to its second straight Platinum Division championship. The 6-foot-4 senior was nearly unstoppable with his combination of strength, physicality and ability to score from all three levels of the floor. Burries is one of the top unsigned seniors in the country and had coaches from Arizona, UCLA and USC tracking his every move on the weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956470' first='Chace' last='Holley'] | 2026 | Redondo Union

Holley's impact is vital to the Sea Hawks success. The dynamic 6-foot guard is a game-changer on the defensive end of the floor with his ability to pressure and contain the ball and anticipate passing lanes. Offensively, the junior is an explosive vertical athlete who possesses great speed with the ball when attacking the basket in transition or half-court offense.

Chris Komin | 2025 | St. John Bosco

Komin is one of the more underrated seniors in Southern California and our next rankings update will give him the recognition he has earned. The wiry 6-foot-2 shooting guard fits in perfectly with the Braves star-studded roster as a glue guy who doesn't need to be the primary option to impact the game. Komin makes all the simple reads, passes and plays but has the three-point and mid-range shooting abilities to score in bunches when his team needs a boost of offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1555180' first='Delton' last='Prescott III'] | 2027 | Sunnyslope (AZ)

Prescott is a speedy 5-foot-10 point guard who, while he plays fast and pushes the tempo, also stays under control and understands when to play in transition and when to bring the ball out and run offense. Prescott plays alongside a handful of talented big men and his ability to get them the ball inside is preparing him well for the next level. The sophomore has a high basketball IQ and is a precision passer with his timing and delivery.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630620' first='Elzie' last='Harrington'] | 2025 | St. John Bosco

Harrington does it all for the Braves from setting up and running the offense to orchestrating the transition attack to getting teammates involved and finding the right time to get himself some baskets. The 6-foot-5 guard led Bosco into the Platinum Division championship game where the Braves fell to Roosevelt and recently flipped his commitment from Harvard to USC where he will stay home next season to play his college hoops.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630629' first='Isaac' last='Williamson'] | 2025 | Eastvale Roosevelt

Williamson is one of the most dangerous three-point shooters out west with his ability to get hot in a hurry from deep and Layton Christian of Utah found that out the hard way in a Platinum Division semifinal where the 6-foot-1 senior knocked down 10 three-pointers and scored 34 points in the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956524' first='Isaiah' last='Rogers'] | 2026 | Corona Centennial

Rogers is the most experienced/veteran presence on a young Centennial roster and he's stepped up to the challenge of leading his team. Despite drawing extra attention from opposing defenses, the 6-foot-2 junior still has the ability to score efficiently from all three levels of the floor. Rogers is an elite pull-up jump shooter off the bounce from three-point and mid-range areas of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630683' first='Julien' last='Gomez'] | 2025 | La Mirada

The crafty left-handed shooting guard has the uncanny ability to get to his spots when he needs to get his team a basket. The 6-foot-2 senior is a savvy finisher around the basket because of his footwork and ability to play off of two feet in the paint. Gomez, a UTRGV-commit, is also a very good shooter from three-point range off the catch and from the mid-range off the bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956542' first='Kaiden' last='Bailey'] | 2026 | Santa Margarita

It was good to see Bailey in an environment where he has to balance his explosive scoring ability with learning to play within a system and Santa Margarita has been a good place for him to do that. The 6-foot-3 junior can still put points on the board with the best of them as he has become known for but his playmaking instincts have improved over the last few months.

[player_tooltip player_id='1530585' first='Luke' last='Isaak'] | 2025 | San Ramon Valley

Isaak is a jack of all trades guard who triggers everything for San Ramon Valley's five-out style of offense. The 6-foot-4 UC Irvine-bound senior is an elite three-point shooter off the catch who also has the ability to create for himself and make plays for teammates on dribble penetration in transition and half-court offense. Isaak is a steady decision-maker whose high basketball IQ will translate well to the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630660' first='Myles' last='Walker'] | 2025 | Eastvale Roosevelt

Walker is starting to get some more regional and national attention as Roosevelt continues to win on big stages and the 5-foot-9 point guard has earned all of the publicity he's receiving. Walker is the consummate floor general who gets the ball into the hands of his teammates in positions where they can be successful. The unsigned senior is also an elite on-ball defender whose pressure and quick hands speed up opposing ball handlers.
