<p>On January 5th, 6th Man Hoops hosted a New Year's showcase at Newark Collegiate Academy in Newark, NJ. 6th Man Hoops' New Year's Shoot Out highlighted some prospects that have flown under the radar to start the season. Let's take a look at some guys that stood out over the course of Sunday's action at the wing position. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Using his strong frame, [player_tooltip player_id='2763539' first='Omar' last='Mangassouba'] consistently attacked the rim against Bogota. Finishing the day with 13 points, Mangassouba put pressure on the rim and showcased his ability to finish around the basket with both hands. Mangassouba also showcased his ability to grab a rebound and push in transition, as he converted on a couple oppruntities at the basket in transition. Also being an active point of attack defender, Mangassouba pressured the ball effectively and force a few steals. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Alieu Kelleh did a good job of attacking the basket off ball reversals and playing within the flow of Newark Collegiate's offense. Using his size and strength, Kelleh was not only able to get to the basket but also get active on the boards and contribute in the rebounding department. Kelleh finished the game with 10 points and 7 rebounds. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">In constant attack mode, Gilbert Baez's shot making ability was on full display against Lincoln (NY). Baez showcased not only his ability to shoot it off the catch but a smooth pull up jumper as well. Baez was also able to attack closeouts a couple times throughout the game and finish at the basket around defenders. Baez finished the game with 15 points. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Showcasing a unique combination of length and athleticism, Terrell Wilfong was extremely active on both the offensive and defensive glass. Wilfong also used his length and athleticism to be an active help defender as well as protect the paint, effectively contesting shot attempts at the rim. Wilfong was also effective against Piscataway's 1-3-1 zone, being an outlet in the middle; looking opposite on the catch and finding open guys as well as turning and facing and showcasing a nice touch on his floater. Wilfong finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds.</p>
