Owing to four— that's right FOUR overtime main event. The 11th Annual 2K Showcase seemed a little longer than usual. However the competitive five game slate produced standout performances throughout the day. Following are a handful of standout performers from the early contests.

[player_tooltip player_id='2112231' first='Isaiah' last='Guyton'] 6-6 2026 Wyoming Godwin Heights (pictured) Guyton burst on the scene as young player with good size and above average shooting touch. Personally I kind of lost track of him. Didn't catch Godwin or his AAU team last year— that's on me. On Saturday, Guyton showed that he has continued to improve as he approaches the mid point of his junior year. The outstanding shooting touch is still present. However got off to a bit of a slow start. Only scoring four points in the first half. Didn't sulk and simply lowered his head and took his game down to the block. Established and fought hard for deep post position. Was also a factor on the glass. The work down low opened up space on the perimeter. That is when the pure outside shot started to fall. I like the fundamental release point and he doesn't need much room to get it off. Was more than just a scorer. Had some aggressive outlet passes that helped Godwin get out into transition late. This keyed a big fourth quarter comeback for the Wolverines. Guyton finished with an eye opening double double of 24 points and 13 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1796744' first='Isaiah' last='Theodile'] 6-8 2026 Kalamazoo Central A known prospect who already holds division 1 offers. Theodile was as advertised. Personally I have him as the best post finisher in the state— regardless of class. Put it up anywhere near the rim and he is going to go get it. Disregard what his profile says about his height. He is a now legit 6-8 with an athletic, but not skinny frame. Despite the broader hips and shoulders, continues to get off the ground quicker than everyone else. Has an excellent hands and can catch difficult passes. Has a soft left handed touch around the basket. Hamtramck had a lot of size and was very physical all game. He handled it well. Kept his composure and kept coming all day. Put up a double double with 22 points 12 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1866943' first='Taveon' last='Vaughn'] 6-2 2026 Kalamazoo Central The Loy Norrix transfer has provided a level of perimeter speed and explosiveness to the Maroon Giants in his first year. Is a true point who pushed the tempo while looking for open teammates. Has excellent acceleration and doesn't take long to get to top speed. Despite the speed, plays under control and doesn't over penetrate or dribble into trouble. Complemented the speed with a sudden change of direction ability. Finished with 10 points, but also added plenty winning intangible plays that don't show up on a scoresheet.

Curtis Flagg Jr 6-7 2026 Hamtramck I'm going to channel some restraint and avoid any puns with this young man's last name. Just know this, this bouncy prospect establishes a serious no fly zone at the rim. No easy baskets at the cup with this prospect. Over Christmas I saw him repeatedly deny an East Kentwood squad loaded with high flyers that were aggressively attacking the basket. Kalamazoo Central is a similar team and attempted to do the same. Once again the lengthy shot blocker wasn't having it. Is quite skinny but plays with a strength you would not expect from his frame. The defense is ahead of the offense at this point of his development. The physical upside makes this a prospect to watch in the next year.

Ty'Ron Jenkins 6-3 2025 Hamtramck If this was a “breakout performer” column. This two guard would easily be at the top of my list. Jenkins came out firing and never really let up. Scored 15 first half points when it appeared the Cosmos were getting off to a slow start. Did it in a wide variety of ways. Can't really identify a go to shot or finishing skill. He is what the kids call a “bucket”. A little bit of everything. Had four threes, drew fouls at the rim, and scored in the mid range. Finished with a game high 29 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2447473' first='Kenneth' last='Towns'] 6-10 2027 Hamtramck Major project alert here. This was my first time catching this prospect. Wasn't playing with the Cosmos over Christmas. Not sure if that was due to transfer or if he was still on JV. Whatever the reason, it was clear he still adjusting to the speed at the varsity level. Got spot minutes on Saturday. Made the most of those minutes though. Competed hard defensively against Kalamazoo Central's large frontline. Wasn't afraid of contact and appeared to be up for the challenge. Not very light on his feet at this point of his development. Will need to improve that along with lateral quickness going forward. What he does have though is elite presence and size. Is a legit 6-10 with sturdy frame. That is size you simply can't teach. Has a bit to go, but is definitely a prospect to monitor.
