The 2024-25 season is halfway finished and as we have watched and monitored games all over the state, we have gathered enough intel to update the Class of 2025 rankings. There are a number of brand new names added to the list from last time - here's a look at the top ones.

The highest debut is from Long at #52, and honestly we should have had him ranked in the first place. His combination of 6-foot-3 height and length make him a tough matchup on both ends of the floor and so far this season he's been able to get things done both as a scorer and as a distributor. He set a school single-game record with 16 assists earlier this season and currently ranks among the state's best at all levels.

Mountain View lost a lot of firepower from last year but the emergence of Chambers as a scorer has helped the Cougars remain competitive. The 6-foot-2 guard is a good athlete and capable of either knocking down the open shot or creating off the dribble and finishing around the rim. A pure scorer, he opened the season with a 31-point effort at the Wilsonville Tournament and has registered a number of 20+ point games since.

There's simply no better word to use than "solid" to describe Hawkins, as he's been as dependable performer for West Salem night in and night out so far this season. The 6-foot-3 swingman is tough with a no-frills attitude and just goes out and drops 15 points per game on a variety of mid-range jumpers and moves. He's got good strength to use to his advantage in multiple ways and isn't afraid of getting tough on the defensive end.

It's been a little rough in the win/loss column for Springfield, but Trinka has done his best to keep the team competitive as much as possible. The 5-foot-9 guard is a dynamic scorer that plays with zero fear, capable of catching fire from three-point range as well as getting into the lane and getting buckets in all sorts of ways. He opened the season with a huge bang, dropping 34 points on Wilsonville and despite being the focus of all opposing defenses, has continually remained one of the top scorers in 5A.

Montez is another player that should have been ranked previously but we have now corrected that omission. The 5-foot-10 guard with the strong build is a bulldog on the court who uses his physicality and stature to blow past defenders to the hoop but can also knock down the three with regularity as well. We saw the senior in a big win over Cascade Christian at the Crusader Classic and was impressed with his take-charge leadership and toughness.

A big time shooter, Hix has emerged as Sherwood's top outside sniper so far this season. As talented as he is knocking down the three, the senior guard can also create off the dribble a bit and has consistently remained among the Bowmen's top four scorers in most of their games thus far. A tough competitor, Hix has capably taken on top guards on the defensive end as well.

The main guy returning from last year's squad, Mix has stepped into the top dog role with confidence. The lefty guard leads the Grizzlies in scoring, using his crafty moves to get to the hoop for scores, often drawing contact and getting to the free throw line - he currently has more free throws made than field goals made. The senior also leads the team in assists.
