The Wilsonville Invitational Tournament took place from December 6-8 and we had the opportunity to drop by and watch a number of games, including the full final day on Sunday. Here's a look at some of the new faces we saw that we'll be looking to incorporate into the rankings for their respective classes.

[player_tooltip player_id='2722553' first='Vinnie' last='Trinka'] (2025 Springfield)

Trinka was arguably the find of the tournament for us. He exploded onto the scene with 34 points in the first game against Wilsonville and ended up scoring 88 points over the three days. The 5-foot-9 point guard has good quickness and is super shifty off the dribble, is a little streaky but can get hot pulling up from deep, and plays with a swagger and competitiveness that can't be taught.

[player_tooltip player_id='2722574' first='Mason' last='Chambers'] (2025 Mountain View)

We were familiar with Chambers going into the tournament as one of the main returnees from last year's team as he was one of the team's better athletes. What he showed in Wilsonville is that he's going to be an offensive force to contend with as he posted 67 points in three games. The 6-foot-2 guard has a nice looking shot from three, but can also create and finish off the bounce. While he's a football standout, Chambers is looking for hoops playing opportunities in college.

Kevin Mungia (2025 McKay)

Leading scorer Dennis Bondar was out for McKay after the first game, so Mungia was one of the players that stepped forward to fill in. The senior guard showed off a nice all-around offensive game, especially in Sunday's win over Springfield where he piled up 24 points. While his preference appeared to be more creating and pulling up in the mid-range, Mungia did show some range and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the line.

Asiel Vasquez (2025 McKay)

We first noticed Vasquez in the season opening win over North Salem as despite his diminuitive size at 5-foot-8, he was outhustling and outworking players much bigger than him, especially on the boards and on defense. At the Wilsonville Tournament, he showed he was more than just a hustle guy as he could score a bit too. In Sunday's victory, he knocked down threes from the corner and made plays getting to the cup.

[player_tooltip player_id='2747522' first='Charlie' last='O'Connell'] (2026 Mountain View)

With all of the graduation losses from last year, O'Connell has stepped into a starting role for the Cougars and has fit right in. The 6-foot junior showed in Wilsonville that he's the type of player has a great feel for the game, when to be aggressive and when to lay back. He consistently hit open shots - some in clutch moments - and played extremely unselfishly all weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='2747509' first='Isaac' last='Matsdorf'] (2026 Ashland)

We only got a chance to really watch Ashland in the WIT title game, but it was certainly the right time to catch Matsdorf. The junior lefty wing caught fire from the outside, hitting six threes and helping keep the Grizzlies in the game against Wilsonville. Matsdorf had great form and a quick release on his shot, which added to his size makes him an intriguing catch-and-shoot threat.

[player_tooltip player_id='2747511' first='Quillian' last='Tourzan'] (2026 Ashland)

Tourzan may be a bit undersized for a scoring guard at 5-foot-10, but thanks to his craftiness, non-stop motor, and fearless attitude he's nevertheless effective. The Ashland junior was a blur in the open floor - not surprising considering he's a star soccer player - and was just as capable knocking down open shots as he was getting to the hoop and finishing.

[player_tooltip player_id='2766533' first='Logan' last='Large'] (2026 Lebanon)

Lebanon was very competitive all weekend in Wilsonville and a lot of that had to do with Large. Long, lanky, and athletic standing at about 6-foot-1, the junior wing was very active on both sides of the ball and capable of scoring both inside and out. He was particularly intense on the defensive side of the floor in Sunday's action against Redmond.
