The annual Texas Jamboree was a proving ground for many against high level competition taking place on the campus of Episcopal High School. The Saturday slate of games that was scheduled early to start off November on the right foot did not fail to impress and there were many stock rising players in attendance. Let's look at some guards who impressed me this weekend and made winning plays.

Kayden was the main facilitating ballhandler for Kimball in their evening victory over CE King in Houston. He consistently distributed to open teammates for easy assists, knew how to change the pace of the game to benefit Kimball, and did not back down from tough competition. His aggressiveness on defense was one of the keys to his team winning this game and staying in the lead throughout the duration of the entire contest. Gray also knows how to use his speed and decision making to constantly beat defenders to his spots and score the ball for himself or create space for teammates to work with the ball in their hands. Kayden had 12 pts and 7 assists in the win.

Elijah had infectious energy off the bench in Harlan's win over Houston Christain on Saturday and was good at absorbing the contact and scoring near the basket or driving and dishing to an open shooter. He had multiple opportunities to score off the pick and roll as the ballhandler and he made sure to take advantage of those moments. Moore had a total of 11 pts and 4 assists for SA Harlan and helped keep up the emotional energy for his team on both ends of the court this game.

Miles Young showed that he was a dual threat presence in Episcopal's victory on their home turf over LA Southside. Young can score the ball inside and outside creating multiple problems for matchups guarding him and he knows how to set a hard screen to get the ballhandler free and able to make a play. Young displayed good IQ as well as he was able to make quick, split-second decisions and this led to his team dominating the offensive end of the game. Miles had 14 points and 11 rebounds in the victory and also tacked on 4 blocks.

Christian was the most important defender for Episcopal in the win over LA Southside, continually guarding the other team's best player. He was also instrumental in getting some buckets from the perimeter on offense, hitting a couple threes and some midrange shots as well. He has a good frame and a long enough wingspan to play passing lanes effectively as well as finishing in transition and using long strides to get back on defense.
