Peak Performers, Pt. 1

With the season in full swing, games are happening often and the competition is getting fierce. The 2026 student athletes below have shown ways to stand out from the pack with their stellar play.    Christian is a tough, gritty combo guard who knows what it takes to win and isn't afraid to put in the work to get there. He's an excellent defender and usually seeks out the toughest players from the opposing team to guard. He consistently creates positive disruptions throughout his games and he racks up extra possessions for his squad with crafty steals and picked cross-court passes. He's got nice shooting form with a solid jumper and reliable ability to sink shots beyond the arc. His first step is quick when he puts it on the floor and he has no problems taking it to the hole and creating his own shots as well. Kelley is a true 3-and-D guard and I imagine he'll have plenty of coaches after him and his skill set as his senior year gets closer.     DJ is an incredibly talented and skilled point guard that has been balling out this season with his sensational scoring ability and tough defense. He's unbelievably quick off the dribble and a nightmare to contain offensively for his opposing assignment. Even the best defenders are getting frustrated because when they close the gap and think they've got him locked up, he whizzes by them with ease and elite ballhandling skills on his way to yet another bucket. He's a lefty with one of the more impressive step-backs I've seen recently and he has no problem putting his head town and driving the lane hard when he needs to or he sees an opening. He's got lightning hands and will swipe the ball from his opponents in a split second if they're not careful. His confidence is soaring and with the way he's playing, I'm not sure I see it descending for a long time to come.     D'Anthony is a skilled, solid combo guard that has been turning a ton of heads this season with the way he hustles and fills out the stat sheet. He's an elite scorer and can basically go get a bucket on demand whenever needed. He doesn't back down to pressure, he's a player who you want t have the ball in their hands when the buzzer's approaching and the game is on the line. He just hit 1,000 points at Shoemaker and that number is going to keep rising quickly. His frame is not one of your typical Junior and he can bully his way into his spots without expending too much effort, which allows him to score readily and still have the energy to dominate on the defensive end. Moore has entered this season with a ferocity and the attention on him will only keep getting stronger and stronger from here.     Sean is a bulldog of a point guard that can get on a hot streak and shoot lights out with the basketball, racking up points for his team incredibly fast. He's gritty in the lane, often knowing exactly how to alter his shots to give him the best looks and creating contact while doing so to get some freebies from the line. He has elite court vision and because of his impressive shooting ability, defenders rush to try and disrupt his shots and he can regularly find wide open teammates with ease. He's excellent at contorting his body while airborne in order to create space and give himself and his teammates the best opportunities. His motor is non-stop and he never slows down or stops to rest during game time - pure hustle 100% of the time. Parks is going to turn more and more heads with his impressive performances and I can't wait to see him get all the attention he deserves.     Ian is a fast, crafty point guard that can pull up and score on his opponent before they even know what happened. He's a great shooter with excellent form and the patience to find his best opportunities throughout the game. You won't find Joshua taking ill-advised shots and for good reason - his passing ability is off the charts. He seems to see plays and motion before they happen and delivers the ball to his streakers in an almost quarterback-like fashion. He's not afraid of contact and can drive to the hoop for high-percentage buckets with the best of them. He's great at moving without the ball as well and can get to his spots easily throughout his games. Joshua is going to continue to garner more and more attention and it's no surprise with the significant ways he's able to elevate his team.
