The next few articles will focus on standout prospects by position, regardless of graduation class. Our primary aim is to highlight the underrated athletes who used this event to elevate their profiles, proving they deserve to be mentioned among the top-rated and well-known prospects. We begin with evaluating the lead guard position prospects.

*In no specific order

Aidan Conlan | G | 5'10 | San Marcos (Santa Barbara) | 2027 (Pictured)

He is a sneaky scorer and an excellent shooter in transition, capable of hitting three-pointers while on the move. With a high basketball IQ, he knows how to find open spots on the court and can effectively read his defender to exploit his offensive strengths. His quick first step off the dribble makes him a valuable asset. He stands out as a bright prospect for the future of the San Marcos team and is one to watch in the 2027 class.

Denis Woods | G | 6'2 | Bishop Montgomery HS | 2025

Senior leadership is crucial for this athlete, who is an underrated playmaker and a skilled scorer. He has a knack for taking high-level shots that the defense allows him. With a high basketball IQ on both ends of the court, he stands out as the best scorer against a very strong Clovis North High School team. Low Major Division I and Division II programs should take note of this promising prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1896233' first='CJ' last='Coleman'] | G | 6'5 | Vista HS (Vista, Calif.) | 2025

A strong bodyguard who creates plays off the dribble, with an improving mid-range skill set for a guard. He's a good defender with room for improvement and plays within his strengths. This prospect has a high ceiling. He needs to continue to hone his skills to achieve the next level.

Lincoln Gengo | G | 6'0 | San Marcos HS (Santa Barbara) | 2026

The point guard possesses shooting skills similar to those of a shooting guard. He showcased his shooting range early in the Christmas Classic on Saturday, proving to be especially accurate when open. With great shooting form and solid dribbling abilities, he effectively protects the ball. Additionally, he is a good defender. He is a player to watch for the 2026 class.

Aden Millwee | G | 6'1 | Fresno Christian HS | 2026

Aiden began Saturday with an aggressive mindset on the offensive end. He showcased sharp shooting and excelled at aggressive off-screen plays. He scored effectively from mid-range and used floaters to finish when defenders closed off his driving lanes during transition plays. Additionally, he proved to be an excellent outlet passer in transition situations.

Mckae Amundsen | G | 5'9 | Clovis North HS | 2026

He is the ultimate competitor, a true point guard who can score in bunches. Regardless of his height, he has uncanny separation moves to get his spots for a quality shot. He loves the three-ball more than he loves getting to his mid-range; his high IQ was displayed off the ball vs. a tough Bishop Montgomery team. He made several solid reads for backdoor cuts to score or keep his defender guessing. The best part of his game that I highlighted is the number of paint touches he gets naturally; his first step is a key strength of his game.
