Last weekend I attended the Take Flight Challenge at Redondo Union HS in Cali and the EIBC League in Mohave HS in Nevada. Millennium, Highland were in the Cali while Bella Vista Prep was in the Nevada.

Here were some of the standouts I watched:

[player_tooltip player_id='2211006' first='Jordan' last='Charles'] Bella Vista Prep (Pictured)

A tough real point guard can score. He drives it with tough takes to the basket and will euro step. He hits the three way better then he did a year ago and can pull-up. His speed drives are tough to defend and runs the team perfectly. His pace is so good and he is an elite lob passer and will rope any pass to a teammate with a great feel.

[player_tooltip player_id='2241513' first='Lyris' last='Robinson'] Bella Vista Prep

A long athletic combo guard will make some plays for his teammates but he is a natural scorer. He will catch and shoot from the three, dunk it effortlessly on the break with a very fluid handle and burst to the basket with a speed dribble drive in the lane.

[player_tooltip player_id='2551870' first='Spencer' last='Ahrens'] Bella Vista Prep

One of top skilled big men left in the West. He has every trick in the book to score with fall aways, Dirk fade aways, advanced post footwork and has a pure stroke from the three. He is a big time passer with a high feel for the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2563124' first='Bolaji' last='Oderinlo'] Bella Vista Prep

A freaky athletic power forward from Nigeria. He defends really well in space and is an explosive dunker with quick twitch bounce immediately up to the rim. He is also starting to face up to the three showing some progress then just a few months ago. He rebounds at a high clip and runs the floor like a deer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1301344' first='Kingston' last='Tosi'] Millennium

A highly skilled forward showed off his skill with ball fakes into a fall away, spin moves off of a defender, he is a quick second jumper to get on the glass and will step out and shoot the three. He will rebound and block shots in his area.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150822' first='Cameron' last='Holmes'] Millennium

A top notch wing defensive player was feeling it from deep this weekend. He rattled in five DEEP triples from literally NBA range. Some were so deep the defense did not even bother covering him and he still knocked them down. He made good reads to teammates and rebounds well in and out his area.

[player_tooltip player_id='1555181' first='Adrian' last='Higuera'] Millennium

A scoring defensive point guard is extending his shooting range. He will hit the three off the catch with an improving percentage plus still has his polished mid-range pull-up. He sees the court well, rebounds well in his area and has quick feet on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150844' first='Quincy' last='Everson'] Millennium

A skilled lead guard with some toughness. He scores with catch threes, put backs inside the paint, layups with a burst to the lane thru some contact. He made some big shots versus top talent.

[player_tooltip player_id='1351129' first='JT' last='Amundsen'] Millennium

The ultimate zone buster of the team. He hit five deep threes off the catch with a super quick trigger. He smartly moves off the ball and relocates to open spots on the floor. He will give and hard ball fake and lay it in. You rarely see him take a bad shot and moves the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1735336' first='Michael' last='Johnson'] Highland

I watched them twice and he scored 22 points and 11 in the two outings. He dribble drives to rim with a quick burst to the basket but his three point shooting stood out over the weekend. He has nice form and catches and shoots it quickly off of his hands. He hit six threes in two games.

[player_tooltip player_id='1873684' first='Tyson' last='Crandall'] Highland

A very steady guard for the Hawks scored 14 and 10 for the weekend. He hit four threes for himself but he also loves the mid-range pull-up. He has a floater game and makes many shots off the dribble. He is also a very good passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2291974' first='Nick' last='Reber'] Highland

A thicker combo guard scores it all levels with fall aways in the paint, catch threes, he uses his thicker frame to get downhill and is a top notch rebounder in and out of his area using his frame and positioning.

[player_tooltip player_id='1734005' first='Grady' last='Crandall'] Highland

One of the stronger frames in the class scores mostly with pull-ups off the dribble and getting downhill using that wider frame. He hit some clutch shots and will defend inside and out.

[player_tooltip player_id='2291967' first='Kyle' last='Bogart'] Highland

A long post player who is a good passer and he defends. He has some sneaky bounce to rebound and block shots. He can score with his back to the basket and then once he gets crowded he finds the open man.

[player_tooltip player_id='1734007' first='Talon' last='Knollmiller'] Highland

A combo guard moves the ball well but he is slowly becoming one of their top shooters off the bench. He hit three off the catch and every shot attempt looked like it was going in. He also has a decent burst with the ball to get to the basket.
