Richards Career Academy 70 Bronzeville Military Academy 64

Richards guard Thylan Tobias scored 20 points off tough slashes and cuts to the basket. He has good body control and stays locked in on the basket when surrounded by defenders. In the loss, Bronzeville Military guard Jamhad Noye-Mohammad was impressive with his shooting and motor when getting to the basket. Thicker guard who scored from all three levels. He finished with 25 points and several steals in the loss.

UP Bronzeville 65 Hammond Academy S&T 55

UP Bronzeville guard 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2892375' first='Malakhi' last='Calahan'] had it going from deep hitting several threes in a very competitive game. Calahan is an athletic and poised guard who gets his feet set with a quick release on the shot. He finished with 30 points in the win. Opposite of him at Hammond Academy of Science and Tech was a 2027 guard who was just as impressive. Jalil Powell is a heady guard who lived in the paint and routinely made shots from mid-range. Powell is a young guard that I will continue to monitor at this tournament. He scored 21 points in the game.

Julian 60 Dusable 39

In a blowout win, Julian 2026 guard Ian Flowers continues to put points on the boards. The 6'4 guard shows good body control and agility when getting to the bucket. He can make a shot or two if left wide open. He finished with 21 points and managed to play some defense as he had two blocks in the game.

Johnson Prep 43 Englewood Stem 40

In the late game we had two neighborhood high schools square off 6 miles south of both campuses. Englewood had a healthy lead going into halftime before guard Larry Kohn of Johnson Prep stepped up on defense with consistent activity to get steals and make shots from deep. The two teams went back and forth swapping the lead until Kohn's basket to put Johnson up for good. He finished with 12 points and bragging rights for the best team in the neighborhood.
