Thanksgiving week I attended five tournaments and one stand alone game for exactly 24 games and 48 different teams. The events I watched were Phoenix Union Coyote Classic at Central HS, Beyond Basketball Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament at Moon Valley, Millennium at Sandra Day O'Connor, Fear The Hop Tournament at Mesa HS, Sentinel Holiday Classic at Seton Catholic and Horizon Honors and lastly the LV8 Invitational at Chandler-Gilbert CC.

Here were the Newcomer SG/SF's

[player_tooltip player_id='2674062' first='Nick' last='Rosato'] Desert Mountain (Pictured)

A good sized scoring guard is a sniper. He will catch and shoot from the three point line and and smartly cuts when he should. He scores it in transition and has a polished runner. Look for him to have a big breakout year in Scottsdale.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674662' first='Cam' last='Ranniker'] Bradshaw Mountain

A decent sized scoring guard will hit the catch three with a quick release. He has become stronger in the last year and is an aggressive defender. He will also hesitate to get downhill to score with a decent handle. He may lead the team in scoring a few nights and be the man next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674056' first='Fitz' last='Guinan'] Coconino

A good sized scoring guard can catch and shoot from the three point line at a nice clip. He is best as a standstill shooter and moves smartly off the ball to free himself to get his shots off. One of the multiple Coconino standouts I just saw for the first time is a gamer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2412781' first='Logan' last='Lupkes'] Paradise Honors

A shooting guard is a three level scorer. He can score it with mid-range pull-ups, step thrus and hit the catch three pointer. He is also a tough on-ball defender and he is needed to produce next to [player_tooltip player_id='1598395' first='David' last='Leszczynski'].

[player_tooltip player_id='2674671' first='Nygel' last='Lindsey'] Cortez

An athletic wing forward can score with euros steps to the rim, multiple back door lob attempts, tough body control drives, reverse layups and offensive rebound put backs. A pleasant surprise I found at the Moon Valley tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674681' first='Cassius' last='Henderson'] Cortez

‘Cash' can score from all levels with driving layups, euro steps, catch threes and pull-ups. The sophomore puts pressure on the defense and he can make plays for his teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674054' first='Gavin' last='Greene'] Coconino

A highly athletic wing forward can easily dunk it on the break way above the rim. He will also rip thru in traffic or and rise up and score it. He is a plus rebounder and can score with driving layups. He will only get better over the next two years.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674677' first='Carter' last='Wells'] Cortez

A scoring guard has a shifty handle. He gets to his spots and will pull-up from mid-range, use the floater game and has quick hands on defense to rip some pockets. He is very confident and they will lean on him in stretches of every game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674700' first='Paul' last='Riley'] Central

A face-up forward can play both spots up front. He shoots it easily from the three point line and is sneaky athletic to throw it down or catch and alley-oop dunk on the break. He will score on put backs after he boxes his man out and is a nice boost to an already good team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2087241' first='Kaden' last='Ramirez'] Cortez

A strong wing forward with a great feel for the game. He has a nice handle in small spaces and will score thru contact with his strength. He can score from the perimeter but is currently most effective and efficient in the painted area.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674674' first='Caleb' last='Williams'] Dysart

A wing forward is a hustle type of glue player. He can hit the three off the catch and plays inside. He will score with either hand inside and rebounds well in his area.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674071' first='Aidan' last='Erwin'] Mica Mountain

A scoring guard plays hard and knows what he is doing. He will catch and shoot as a corner three point specialist type. He is a physical defender and can post up a little to score.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674770' first='Cash' last='Gorder'] Scottsdale Christian Academy

A long and lean wing sophomore forward can score. He can shoot it from the three and with the mid-range pull-up. He runs the floor, plays hard on defense and will be a nice compliment to Harrison and co.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674794' first='Curtis' last='Coplin'] ALA-Ironwood

A junior scoring guard can score a few ways with catch threes, inside buckets in traffic, dribble drives to the basket. His bother from last year is currently playing college basketball and he got moved up from JV and looks to make an impact to this team.
