Thanksgiving week I attended five tournaments and one stand alone game for exactly 24 games and 48 different teams. The events I watched were Phoenix Union Coyote Classic at Central HS, Beyond Basketball Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament at Moon Valley, Millennium at Sandra Day O'Connor, Fear The Hop Tournament at Mesa HS, Sentinel Holiday Classic at Seton Catholic and Horizon Honors and lastly the LV8 Invitational at Chandler-Gilbert CC.

Here were the Newcomer PF/C's

[player_tooltip player_id='2674073' first='Diego' last='Moorehead'] Valley Vista (Pictured)

One of the best shooters I viewed over the week was Diego. He knocked down six triples with range off the catch. He also has the mid-range jumper and will hustle to rebound and block shots. He is a little lean but plays hard inside the paint and runs the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674646' first='Micah' last='Thurman'] Cicero Prep

A plus athlete at about six-foot five plays like he is three inches taller with his motor and bounce. He has strong broader shoulders he uses to rebound and box his man out. He powers his way inside the paint with a nice handle to create his own offense. He will often take the ball off the glass and take it coast to coast. An easy leaper to rebound and block shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674081' first='Jagger' last='Cockrell'] Mountain Ridge

A face-up power forward who can score from inside and out. He has the off the dribble three or catch and then will drive it with either hand to score inside the paint. He has stronger hands to rip a pocket and uses his length inside to defend the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674196' first='Kaleb' last='Bowen'] Mountain Ridge

A face-up forward plays both positions for the West Valley team. He is long and lean and will face-up to the three point line. He rebounds well in his area and creates a little for himself but is best off the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674271' first='Travis' last='Dean'] Maryvale

A face-up power forward with some strength and skill. He has a nice shooting stroke from the three point line and can work inside to score. He will get to the free throw line or score thru the contact with his thicker frame.

[player_tooltip player_id='2672883' first='Oryon' last='Huayhualla'] Coconino

One of the more unique players I viewed this past week. The power forward can shoot the three off the catch and he is a really good passer who has a next level feel. The lefty has a polished hook shot and he is a rebound chaser. He is a fundamental defender who stays with his opponent.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674164' first='Joshua' last='Allen'] Desert Mountain

A power forward is the little brother of a former Shadow Mountain standout back in the day. He is a twitchy athlete who rebounds anything in and out of his area and will block shots impressively at the top of the box. He talks a lot on defense and sprints the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674153' first='Rohan' last='Setia'] Paradise Valley

A power forward who plays inside with good hands and a strong frame. He uses his wider shoulders and braun to rebound, set picks and score in the paint. He uses the floater game and will score on layups. He is also a good passer from the high post.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674067' first='Tyson' last='Cutchen'] Highland

A long and lean post player who rebounds well in his area. The lefty has a nice shooting stroke from the free throw line and is a very active player on both ends of the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674764' first='Cameron' last='Laur'] ALA West Foothills

A power forward is active around the basket. He is a plus rebounder and can take it coast to coast for a finger roll or floater. He also scores with his back to the basket and he smartly cuts off the ball.
