PHI was at the Chicago Elite Classic over the weekend. There were a ton of prospects at the event with college potential. In this series we breakdown over 80 of them! Here is Chicago Elite Classic: 2025 Wings!

[player_tooltip player_id='1766470' first='Alex' last='Gossett'] (OPRF)

Gossett had an excellent showing in the opening game of the event. The long and rangy wing brings plus athleticism and two way ability to the table. Has always been a pogo stick athlete, but the skill set is really starting to emerge as a senior. Shot it well from beyond the arc knocking in 3-5 from distance. High level transition player and gets to the foul line at a good rate. Went for 17 points (5-13 FG) and 5 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1598778' first='Ty' last='Macariola'] (Fenwick)

Massive outing from Macariola as the hard nosed two guard was in his bag against rival OPRF. He is a plus shooter from beyond the arc as he was 3-4 from deep along with getting fouled on two other attempts. Mixed in some tough layups and got out in transition for buckets. Definitely the go to player for Fenwick who notched 27 points (9-13 FG), 4 rebounds, and 3 dimes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1550741' first='Jacob' last='Rice'] (St. Laurence)

Strong bodied two guard from St. Laurence that brings physicality on the perimeter. He was at his best attacking downhill on straight line drives, scoop shots, and getting to the rack for scores. Rebounded well for his position and proved to be a nice connective passer on the perimeter netting 15 points (5-13 FG), 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. One of the better uncommitted seniors in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='1766462' first='Zerrick' last='Johnson'] (St. Laurence)

Johnson is a downhill bucket getter. Built like a running back it is all power drives out of the St. Laurence standout. He wins on straight line takes finishing at the cup through traffic. Didn't really show much in the way of a jumper as it was all downhill takes finishing with 16 points (6-12 FG) and 9 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1544818' first='Bradley' last='Stratton'] (St. Laurence)

Stratton is a plus shooter from three as he knocked in 3-6 from beyond the arc. Quick release along with a clean release. Best as a shooting specialist that will be impactful at the small college level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1385292' first='Phoenix' last='Gill'] (St. Ignatius)

The Northwestern commit is the #2 senior in the state and played like it in St. Ignatius win against Lane Tech which helped them move to 6-0 on the season. Great frame and length that projects well toward the next level. He got blocked a couple times, but what we loved was he kept attacking the rack instead of settiling. Float game, transition finishes, and using his crossover to win off the bounce. Drained a pair of threes toward the end of the game. Went for 23 points (8-17 FG) and 8 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='2433263' first='Drew' last='Bartolai'] (Lane Tech)

Bartolai was a big spark for Lane Tech at the start of their game against St. Ignatius. He ripped off 10 of his 14 points in the first quarter. Crafty scoring guard that was in all out attack mode getting to the rack for nifty finishes one after another. Creative ball handler and gets on the offensive glass for put backs. Nice small college player.

[player_tooltip player_id='2415420' first='Danny' last='Loftus'] (Riverside Brookfield)

Loftus started the day off on Saturday with a monster game notching 18 points (5-17 FG) (8-11 FT). Scored on crafty moves and sweeping layups in the paint. Also was effective at getting to the charity stripe at a high rate in their contest. Rebounds well for his position including offensively where he recorded 4 of his 9 boards. Excellent small college gem.

[player_tooltip player_id='2217980' first='Phoenix' last='Childs'] (Perspectives)

Childs is a prospect that is seeing his stock on the rise as a senior. Transfer from Phillips that is the go to player for Perspectives. Big and physical wing that is a straight bucket getter! Really like the motor that he brings game in and game out. He can play bully ball downhill especially when attacking in the open floor. Like how well he shot it draining 4-6 from the perimeter shooting it with a ton of confidence off the catch. Good wing rebounder and has shown some playmaking/connective feel as a passer. Went for 31 points (12-22 FG) and 8 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105200' first='Derrick' last='Dowdell'] (Perspectives)

Transfer from Curie is the #2 option for a good Perspectives squad. Another strong bodied wing that can use his strength to it in the lane where he overpowers opponents finishing with a soft touch game. Streaky perimeter shot maker that can make them as he was 2-7 from beyond the arc. Gets to the charity stripe and did a nice job on the defensive end as he scored 16 points and grabbed 5 boards.

Kamrin King (Hyde Park)

King is a scoring wing that has a strong frame and a college ready body. He is a plus shooter from beyond the arc where he drained 2-5 in the game we caught. Shoots it with a lot of confidence. Struggled scoring inside the paint, but did get 8 points on a pair of threes along with a pull up jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id='2321421' first='Kendall' last='Cutler'] (Bolingbrook)

Cutler is the glue guy that has fit in well with Bolingbrook after transferring in from Romeoville. Mostly known as a spot up shooter it was his scoring inside the arc that led him to 7 points in their win against Kankakee. Small college gem.

[player_tooltip player_id='2437515' first='Jack' last='Wolf'] (Warren)

Wolf is the QB on the Warren football team, but he had a nice game against Kenwood as the two guard drained a pair of threes along with crisp pull up two coming off a ball screen. Also contributed on the boards at a high rate. Finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='2617362' first='Brent' last='Taylor'] (Homewood Flossmoor)

Taylor is a rangy shooting guard who is fitting in very well as the secondary scorer next to Tyler. He is one of the top uncommitted two guards in the senior class. Showed why against Whitney Young on a big stage as he had 19 points (8-10 FG) and 6 boards in the win. Started it off with a deep three. Then used his quickness on the offensive glass. Pushed it in transition with his speed and long strides. He is just an advanced bucket getter!

[player_tooltip player_id='2105169' first='Arden' last='Eaves'] (Homewood Flossmoor)

Eaves is a freaky athlete that is committed to Lewis. The D2 program is getting a two way wing that impacts on both ends. Offensively he threw down a pair of massive dunks, euro steps for buckets, and had another tip slam. Defensively his versatility and athleticism shined. He had 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block.

[player_tooltip player_id='2617349' first='Aiden' last='Derose'] (Homewood Flossmoor)

One of the top sleepers in the senior class that is under appreciated by many. Can play both on and off the ball with a long and rangy frame. Good passing feel that was shown in this game setting up teammates. Plus shooter from three with a clean release along with the ability to finish through contact at the rack and rebound well. Stuffed the stat sheet for 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='1766460' first='Al' last='Brooks'] Jr (Rich Township)

Brooks Jr lived up to his top 10 ranking in a contest against nationally ranked prospects on Duncanville. He is a long and athletic combo forward that is a major stat sheet stuffer. He is quick to the offensive glass for put backs, uses his long strides in transition for scores, spinning layups, finished out of the dunker spot, and hit a pair of threes in a 24 point and 12 rebound showing. Among the best uncommitted prospects on the board. He is the type of guy that if he can be refined can be a massive late add for a program.
