2026 Wings That Are Expected To Breakout This Season

With basketball in the Garden State set to be fully in the swing of things over the next week or so, let's take a look at some wings in the class of 2026 that are expected to take on bigger roles for their teams this upcoming season.    A heavy rim attacker that looks to get going on dribble drives, Whitlock is a wing that loves to operate finishing at the rim. Couple that with a perimeter skillset that consists mostly of catch and shoot threes and mid-range pull ups, Whitlock has a pretty efficient approach to scoring the basketball. Defensively, Whitlock plays with a high motor and uses his length and active hands to play the passing lanes pretty well and be an effective defender.   With a scoring skillset that's pretty efficient and good intangibles to be an active defender, look for Whitlock to be an effective two way player this year for the Hightstown Rams.     An athletic wing with a strong frame, Tyshaun Boyd makes a living on the interior. A solid finisher around the basket coupled with his ability to feast on the glass, Boyd makes his presence known in the paint. Boyd also excels in transition, as a lane runner, getting out in transition and using his athleticism to finish above the rim.   Look for Boyd to showcase an improved offensive skillset that'll see him operate out of the mid post as well expanded range out to the three point line. Boyd should bolster Arts' both interior offense and defense giving the Jaguars much needed size and athleticism in the front court. Williams uses his relentless motor in combination with his length and active hands to be a pest at the point of attack. As a result of that defensive production, Williams uses that impact to turn his defense into offense often times on the court.   Look for Williams to be force that ignites Plainfield's perimeter defense this season as the Cardinals look to compete with some of the best teams in the state of New Jersey.     A strong and athletic wing, DeDe Andre-Mushipu excels at running the open floor in transition and using his athleticism to often times finish above the rim. A solid perimeter threat, Andre-Mushipu is also a guy that can knock down open catch and shoot threes and attack closeouts at a pretty good rate.   Look for Andre-Mushipu to give the Gray Bees a much added boost to their transition offense, bolster their three point shooting as well provide value on the defensive end as a guy that guards multiple positions and contribute on both the offensive and defensive glass. A continuously improving self creator, Owusu-Adoumi gets going from the perimeter as a lot of his buckets come from behind the three point line and mid range pull ups. Owusu-Adoumi Owusu-Adoumi also excels at being able to make plays in transition, as often times he's seen getting out on the break and finish at the basket.
