2025 Player Rankings

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At the beginning of September we had&nbsp;<strong>330</strong>&nbsp;players to rank for the 2025 class and we are now at<strong>&nbsp;350</strong>.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>41 players are new</strong>&nbsp;and some have moved to different states, focused on different sports, and went into the 2026 or 2024 class.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Of the 41 new players, 2 only fell in the top-50, 4 in the top-100 and 10 in the top-200. The other 31 fell in the top-350.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This means most of the players saw their stock stay about the same at least 10 spots up or down in the rankings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Schools are still king but there are 18 AIA players in the top-50 including [player_tooltip player_id='1369218' first='Gavin' last='Dabney'] (committed to D2 Lincoln Univ) who definitely looks like a D1 player. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Our goal at&nbsp;<strong>PrepHoopsAZ</strong>&nbsp;is to try and recognize anyone who may play college basketball. There are some who may commit to a D1 school at the end of the season including [player_tooltip player_id='1150843' first='Andrew' last='Bhesania'].&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>4. We had some recent D1 commitments including&nbsp;<strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1430449' first='James' last='Steward']</strong> to&nbsp;<strong>Northern Arizona</strong>, [player_tooltip player_id='1336443' first='Uriah' last='Tenette'] to<strong> UC San Diego</strong> and [player_tooltip player_id='1150847' first='Carlos' last='Coronado Jr'] to <strong>Northern Illinois.</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>5. Rankings are based on a lot of things. Production, size for position, college coaches, the eye test, ability to score and defend, instincts, IQ, how a player moves, speed, ball handling, shooting, fundamentals. length and possible upside. It is not the easiest thing to do since not all players play in the same leagues for AAU and HS. They can be in the CAA, Grind Session, EIBC, OTE and the AIA obviously has different levels. Plus AAU teams may play on National Circuits (3SSB, UAA and EYBL) or play on independent or up and coming circuits (Pangos, NxtPro, EYCL, UAA Rise, Prep Hoops, WCE, New Balance, The Stage and so on). So you put all that information together and create the rankings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>6. Of the <strong>350</strong> players we have 71 PG's, 69 SG's, 58 CG's, 70 SF's, 64 PF's and 18 C's.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
