2025 Newcomers

Prep Hoop NorCal has updated the 2025 Rankings. We make the effort to see as many prospects as we can. Basketball never ends, we're always in the gym looking for new prospects. High School, AAU, Showcase Events, and Camps. Here are the newcomers.    Knight recently earned all tournament with his play. He's been steadily making a name for himself since the end of Summer. The long arm guard has gained confident with his dribble drives to the basket, along the perimeter, he's finishing strong in transition. He's defending hard, and helping on the boards.     We don't see him often. He's on the edge of NorCal in South Tahoe. He plays well at camps and showcase event. At 6'5 he's got good hops to finish with authority around the basket. He's a good rebounder, and court runner. He can hit the mid-range jumper. He looks for his shot     He plays with energy, finishes strong at the rim in transition. He's got sneaky hops coming from nowhere to throw down unexpected dunks. He's an excellent rebounder. He shoots the mid-range, and paint jumper with good lift.     He could be a sleeper or late bloomer. He has size and strength. He has some tools to work with. He'll shoot the 3 from the top on occasion. He works well from the free throw area and along the baseline. His one-two dribble, long strides, and reach puts him at the rim for lay ins and dunks. He's an excellent passer, and will roll to the basket to finish inside. He's big enough to be a factor on both ends in the paint.     He's an active guard who's looking to put points on the board when he has the ball. A good first step, he's good on the catch and shoot 3 from the corners. He'll use his dribble to get by defenders for pull-up jumpers. He'll shoot 3's coming down in transition. He has a good release, makes good use of screens working along the perimeter.     He's made good strides since the Summer playing against quality competition. He's a shooting guard, who'll put up a shot if he's open. The catch and shoot 3 pointer around the perimeter. He's a ball mover, with not a lot of wasted dribbles. He's an improving defender.     He's a good size player working under the radar. He has a good skill set. He'll help rebound, can score inside with strength going up in traffic. He can pass and dribble, and cut along the perimeter. He has some skills away from the basket. He can get to the rim using a couple of dribbles. He runs the court, has good pull-up jumper. He can hold his own in the paint.     A strong guard with solid handles. He uses his body and dribble to get to his spots for mid range and paint jumpers. He'll drive it all the way in handling contact. He can move over to run point. He has good movement on the defensive side of the ball.     He's strong with leverage. He can handle and create shot opportunities using his dribble, he goes hard to the basket getting it high off the glass. He plays well in transition basketball, aways looking to pass it up court. He's a good defender with lateral movement, and quick hands.     The last time we saw him, he had just finished football. He's a solid athlete with a good body. He's a rebounder, he goes after blocks. He has the size, and strength to defend the paint. He'll get his points scoring inside posting up, and put backs. He runs the court with good strides.     He's steadily improving as a basketball player. He might be a little behind. Standing 6'5 he has work to do developing his skill set. He's long, and active working around the basket. He'll get rebounds and work hard on the defensive side of the ball. JUCO would give him more time to grow his game.
