HOLT

The Indians are poised to improved on their 16-12 record from last season. They return four starters, plus they have some key additions that will improve their overall talent level and depth.

[player_tooltip player_id='1598869' first='Will' last='Salonies']: The 6'1" point guard is one of the smoothest offensive players in the St. Louis area. The young lefty is a three-level scorer who can create a bucket with his handles and shiftiness. He ran the pick and roll well and was hitting 3-pointers off the high ball screen. He was also scoring on twisting drives into the lane. His passing was just as impressive as he set up his teammates with some impressive dimes throughout the event. He displayed some very good court vision and unselfishness.

[player_tooltip player_id='2381529' first='Jace' last='Evans']: A 6'3" 2026 wing player who has good athleticism and a strong motor. He was attacking the basket hard from the opening tip to the final buzzer. He was getting out and running in transition and getting layups. He also did an excellent job of rebounding, especially on the offensive boards.

Abhijat Bajwa: A 6'4" 2026 wing player who does a little bit of everything. He is very skilled as a ball handler and passer and he can also score it. He has good length and he is very fluid in how he moves on the court. He can facilitate well and also attack on the drive. When left open, he can knock down a 3-pointer.

Pierce Behrndt: A 6'3" 2025 forward who is back after missing all of last season with an injury. He averaged 11 points a game as a sophomore. He plays the game at full speed. Full Tilt Boogie is how he rolls. He is a good athlete who is very active on the baseline. He is a very capable scorer around the basket.

Reo Pettus: A 5'11" 2027 guard who is transfer from Riverview Gardens. He will provide some good scoring off the bench. He creates well off the dribble and he was scoring on slicing drives into the lane. He is also a tenacious on-ball defender.

Gabe Cunningham: A 6'5" 2025 forward who joins the basketball squad from the football team, where he is a Division I level prospect. He brings physicality and athleticism to the front line what wasn't present on last year's team. He was rebounding and blocking shots and holding things down in the middle on defense.

PARKWAY NORTH

The Vikings graduated some very good talent, but they return some good athletes and have the potential to have a good season if they put things together. He operates well in the high post against a zone defense. He also hit a smooth turnaround jumper from the baseline from about 12 feet.

I was very impressed with 6'3" 2026 guard Josh Nichols, who has a strong motor that was running hot throughout the evening. He was shooting the passing lanes for steals and going coast to coast for layups. He was a constant presence on the offensive boards and he has a soft touch around the basket. He also has a quick first step to beat defenders off the drive.

Josh Shannon is a 6'3" 2026 guard with a lot of offensive ability. I watched him during the summer and he is a capable scorer from all three levels. He has good length and athleticism and he plays with a lot of energy.

He can also score inside against smaller defenders by using his size. When he isn't scoring, he is also the team's primary ball handler and playmaker.

Izik Stafford is a 6'4" 2026 wing player who plays off the ball well with his constant movement. He is also an active defender at the top of the zone defense.
