The Minnesota 2024 D1 Players: How are they doing?
How are the Minnesota kids that went to the division one level doing so far one month into their season? Let’s have a look today!
Note. Some of these players are walk-ons, if I missed some other walk-ons let me know. Thanks.
One. Jackson McAndrew of 14th ranked Creighton. Jackson is coming off the bench playing 15 minutes a game scoring 7.6 points a game with 4.4 rebounds a contest. He’s made 10 of 28 field goals this year including 6 of 23 threes but 12 of 15 foul shots.
Two. Isaac Asuma of Minnesota. Isaac is playing 25 minutes a game as the team’s top perimeter defender and part time lead guard. He’s averaging 4.8 points making 9 of 22 field goal attempts (4 of 14 at the arc). Averaging a couple boards and assists a game.
Three. Isaiah Johnson of Miami (FL). Isaiah is not in the main rotation as he is the team’s 11th man but he has played 15 minutes across four of the five games.
Four. Daniel Freitag of 19th ranked Wisconsin. Daniel is the 11th man for the Badgers so he has not played in three games and has played six minutes total in the three games he’s played in.
Five. Casmir Chavis of 20th ranked Arkansas. Has not played in a game for Arkansas but has been warming up before games with the team so he seems to be healthy. Arkansas has only played nine guys all season.
Six. Jack Robison of 19th ranked Wisconsin. Has played four minutes this season which is 14th on the team in minutes.
Seven. Grayson Grove of Minnesota. Grayson is red-shirting this season but averaged four points and four rebounds in the exhibitions.
Eight. Kyle Jorgensen of Colorado State. Kyle has been the most productive Minnesota freshman this year as he’s averaging 8.6 points and 3.4 rebounds a game now as a Ram starter. He’s made 14 of 26 threes (4 of 13 at the arc) and 11 of 13 foul shots. Playing just under 20 minute a game. Was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week about two weeks ago.
Nine. Jonathan Mekonnen of Colorado State. Mekonnen has not played for the 3-2 Rams yet. Not one of the 12 Rams that have played so far this year.
Ten. Andy Stefonowicz of NDSU. Andy is playing 12 minutes a game off the bench averaging two points and two rebounds a game. He’s made 4 of 11 shots this year (2 of 7 threes).
Twelve. Chiang Ring of Murray State. Ring has played three minutes all season scoring once. Ring looks to be the 11th man of the Racers.
Thirty-Nine. Greyson Uelmen of North Dakota. Has not played in five games. Not one of the 14 Eagles that has played this year.
Seventy-Eight. Gavin Pendergast of Long Island. Has played a total of five minutes in two games of the six games LIU has played. Gavin has an assist.
Eighty-Eight. Kevin Armstrong II of California. Has not played in five games. Not one of the 13 guys that has played this year.
Two Hundred Four. TJ Cusciotta of Milwaukee. Is not one of the 13 players that have played for the Panthers this year.
NR. Jordan Terhune of USC-Upstate. Is not one of the twelve guys that has played in a game this year.
