The 2024-2025 season is days away. Saturday I was able to attend Brentwood High's Play Day. That campus is enormous and the athletic facilities are insane for a public high school. Regardless, it enabled me to see some players for the very first time. These are a few of the previously unfamiliar top players I watched.

The blue and orange Spartans of Summit High endured a beating from Hume-Fogg Saturday. A number of potential problems arose, but wing size appears to be a strength. Specifically, [player_tooltip player_id='2634800' first='Keenan' last='West'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2634791' first='Joel' last='Coverston'] give Summit defensive versatility.

Keenan can finish around the rim and does not fear contact. Good strength in his shoulders and upper back.

[player_tooltip player_id='2373252' first='John' last='Nwoye'] - Hume-Fogg '27

Long, lean, tall. [player_tooltip player_id='2373252' first='John' last='Nwoye'] is certainly a raw basketball player at this stage. It must be said he is entering his sophomore year of basketball and his older brother is destined to play college basketball next fall somewhere. There are reasons to anticipate a dramatic rise from John in the coming years. First, his frame. He is tall and thin, the ideal body for a young basketball player. Secondly, Nwoye moves well with impressive agility. His skills have to improve, and if he dedicates himself to the game during the next six months...they will.

[player_tooltip player_id='2634789' first='Garrett' last='Anderson'] - Summit '27

Undersized point guard. Anderson is shifty and clever with the basketball. He plays with an uncommon confidence early in his sophomore season. Garrett can shoot the three, but can absolutely improve this element of his advanced game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2634808' first='Tyler' last='McKennon'] - Hickman County '26

Throwback big man. Tough, strong. Active. Effective passer from various points on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2634798' first='Parker' last='Grimenstein'] - Hume-Fogg '27

[player_tooltip player_id='2634798' first='Parker' last='Grimenstein'] showed that he can play physical and is ready to compete at the varsity level. Though he will not likely see many minutes this year PG's future within the program is bright.
