The 11th annual Myrtle Chaffin Classic took place this past weekend at Mt. Zion Academy, the unofficial start to the season for prep and independent teams from all over. This year's event featured teams from NJ, PA, MD, VA, GA and CA, with tons of talent from all over taking place.

The Commonwealth Basketball Group (CBG) has put together an All Tournament team, with players from all the teams being represented. Here's a look at part 2 of the players selected from teams in MD.

Montgomery was a crucial piece for MZP last year helping them to the EPL Championship game and a spot in the national tournament, and the UTEP commit looks like he's going to bring a lot of the same stuff to the table this year. The 6'5” wing is their go-to stopper on the defensive end and he loves it, and he is willing to do whatever it takes to help his team win. He guarded the other team's best perimeter scorer, he made shots from deep and he was dynamic in transition with his athletic finishing ability too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2453740' first='Favour' last='Ibe'] | 7'0” C | Mt. Zion Prep '26 | Honorable Mention

Mt. Zion is always a team that has tons of size, but Ibe gives them something else with his ridiculous size and ability to own the paint on both ends. At 7'0” he deters and blocks shots easily while clogging the lane to stop dribble penetration, and just his outstretched arm on a contest makes driving guards and bigs on the block second guess shooting at the rim. He has good hands to catch tough passes, he is so quick on dump offs to get to the rim and finish above it and he's a constant lob threat as well as a put-back threat on the offensive glass.

Muaad Muhammed | 6'2” PG | Mt. Zion Prep '28 | Honorable Mention

It's not very often that you see a freshman playing on a prep team that plays against mostly post grad teams, but Muhammed showed why he's on the team with a big performance in their win over Prestige Prep. The 6'2” guard isn't built like a normal freshman as he's strong already, and he doesn't play like one as he exudes confidence and has a high IQ as well. He shot the ball extremely well from deep, he changed speeds and got to the paint to make plays for others and he didn't make many mistakes throughout the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1494076' first='Francis' last='Folefac'] | 6'7” PF | Mt. Zion National '25 | Honorable Mention

Folefac is one of the most consistent players I've seen in the DMV over the past few years, and there was nothing different this past weekend as he was productive and did the dirty work to help his team. At 6'7” he's a versatile mismatch who can score it in a number of ways, is a good passer and is a physical rebounder in the paint too. The Loyola (MD) commit showed his ability to work out of the high post making shots and delivering passes, he played and guarded multiple positions and he did all the little things that helped his team win.

Jaiden Shipley | 6'2” CG | Mt. Zion National '26 | Honorable Mention

Shipley moved and transferred to Mt. Zion from Pennsylvania this summer, and he caught our eye immediately in their first game with his blend of athleticism and skill at the guard position. He's an explosive guard with end-to-end speed in transition and the ability to finish above the rim with authority. He showed the ability to create space and make shots off the bounce, he moved off the ball where he worked well off the catch and he's got a ton of upside on the defensive end too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2722697' first='Semaj' last='Marshall'] | 5'11” CG | New Hope Academy '25 | Honorable Mention

Marshall put up big numbers for a New Hope team that was simply outmatched throughout the event, but I expect him to continue to put up those numbers moving forward. The 5'11” lefty was a dynamic scorer who shot it well from deep with good range, he used his quick first step and shiftiness to get downhill where he finished over bigger defenders and he made great decisions in transition with the ball in his hands.
