The first week of November is almost over, meaning the high school basketball season is near. Essex County is filled with talent that can make a big impact on the floor this season, especially in the 2025 class. Here are the 2025 SEC prospects to track this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1411621' first='Myles' last='Blackley'], 6'3 SG Immaculate Conception

Blackley is the Lions' top returning scorer and is poised to have a monster senior season. The 6'3 guard has a good first step, which he uses to blow by his defender and finish around the basket. Blackley can also score in the mid-range and has a nice release on his jumper. He pushes the ball well in transition and slides his feet on defense. Blackley had three 20-point games last season and should eclipse that mark in 2024-25.

[player_tooltip player_id='1823214' first='Shelton' last='Colwell'], 6'5 SF Arts

Colwell led the Jaguars in scoring and rebounding last season and is looking to do so again this season. The 6'5 forward uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and can finish through contact. Colwell uses his size to see over his defender and sets his feet before he shoots. He rips down rebounds on both ends of the floor and uses his athleticism to make plays on the defensive end. Colwell is a gritty forward prospect who should rack up double-doubles throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1413224' first='Robert' last='Foster'], 6'4 SF Payne Tech

Foster does a little bit of everything for the Lions and will put his game on display throughout the season. The 6'4 forward attacks the basket with a purpose and is unafraid of finishing through contact. Foster finds his open teammates in the halfcourt and can also move off the ball. He pushes the pace nicely in transition and can get deflections on the defensive end. Foster is a versatile forward prospect who should fill up the stat sheet this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1411664' first='Malcolm' last='Bragg'], 6'3 SF Newark Tech

Bragg has been a key part of the Terriers' back-to-back appearances in the Group 1 title and is looking to take them back. The 6'3 wing knows how to get to his spot on the floor and finishes nicely around the basket. Bragg can also score in the mid-range and rarely forces the issue in the halfcourt. He is a strong rebounder and has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor. Bragg has poured in nearly 1,200 points in his varsity career and is only going to climb the scoring charts this season for Newark Tech.

[player_tooltip player_id='2339332' first='Carlyle' last='Adams'], 6'4 SF East Orange

Adams can play either forward spot, making him an intriguing prospect to track this season. The 6'4 forward has a good faceup game as he can put the ball on the floor and has a clean release on his jumper. Adams has a good touch around the basket and moves well without the ball in his hands. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and uses his timing to block shots on the defensive end. Adams had 12 double-doubles last season and should go over that total in his senior season.
