We look back at our Minnesota class of 2020 to see where those players are right now as we start the 2024-25 season!

(1) Jalen Suggs of Minnehaha Academy/ Grassroots Sizzle . Jalen is starting his fourth year with the Orlando Magic. Jalen averaged 14.7 points, five rebounds and 3.3 assists last year shooting a career best 40 percent from the arc.

(2) Dawson Garcia of Prior Lake/ D1 Minnesota . Dawson is entering his fifth year of college basketball. He scored nearly 18 points a game for the Minnesota Gophers last year and is a preseason All Big Ten pick.

(3) Kerwin Walton of Hopkins/ D1 Minnesota . Kerwin is entering his fifth year of college basketball. Last year he had his best year of his career scoring 8.5 points a game for Texas Tech shooting a career best 48 percent from the arc! FORTY-EIGHT percent!

(4) Ben Carlson of East Ridge/ D1 Minnesota . Last year Carlson averaged 5.6 points and four rebounds a game for Utah in 18 minutes a contest. He had one more year to play but decided to turn pro and I believe he is playing in the Netherlands.

(5) Dain Dainja of Park Center/Pulley-Sizzle-D1MN. Dain averaged six points and 3.6 rebounds a game last year for Illinois and will play his final year of college basketball at Memphis.

(6) Steven Crowl of Eastview/ D1 Minnesota . Steven is one of those rare players that has stayed the same place throughout college. He is in his 5th year at Wisconsin, he averaged 11 points and 7.5 rebounds a game last year. I had a hunch we had him ranked too low in high school and that hunch was right.

(7) Gabe Madsen of Rochester Mayo/Wisconsin Playground. Gabe averaged 14 points a game at Utah a season ago shooting 39 percent from the arc and he will play his fourth year for Utah this winter.

(8) Mason Madsen of Rochester Mayo/Wisconsin Playground. Gabe and Mason played year one at Cincinnati and have come back together at Utah to play their last year of college basketball together. Mason shot 38 percent at the arc last year scoring eight points a game for Boston College.

(9) Drake Dobbs of Eden Prairie/ D1 Minnesota . Drake's fifth year of playing will be his third year at UST. Drake scored 9.5 points a game last year for the Tommies shooting 46 percent from the field with 2.5 assists per game.

(10) Nathan Heise of Lake City/ Minnesota Fury . After four years at Northern Iowa, Nate is now at Iowa State for year five. He averaged 13.5 points, six rebounds and 2.5 assists per game a season ago shooting 36 percent at the arc. I am wondering if Nate got a medical red-shirt for his 2022-23 season and with that, and the 20-21 season that players the players got back because of covid, I do wonder if Heise has two potential years left or just one.

(11) Jacob Jennissen of Sauk Centre/ Minnesota Matrix . After starting his career at Colorado State and dealing with constant injuries, Jacob finally got a full season at Minnesota State-Moorhead last year. He played in all games averaging five points and five rebounds a contest.

(12) Jacob Hutson of Edina/ Minnesota Fury . After three years at Loyola, Hutson started for Northern Iowa last year and averaged ten points and four rebounds a game. He has one more year left at UNI.

(13) J'Vonne Hadley of Cretin-Derham Hall/ Howard Pulley . Hadley went from Northeastern, to committing to UST, to de-committing from UST to attend junior college in Iowa, and then was at Colorado for two seasons and is now at Louisville. Hadley averaged 11.6 points a game for the Buffs last year and was a great surprise. He's really become a better shooter (doesn't take many threes but made 20 of 48 last year).

(14) Noah King of Caledonia/Minnesota Comets. Noah went from Kirkwood CC to Upper Iowa and last year as a red-shirt sophomore he scored 17 points a game. He is now a red-shirt junior at Upper Iowa.

(15) Connor Christensen of Eden Prairie/ D1 Minnesota . Connor is the second guy on this list to still be at the school he committed to out of high school. Averaged three points a game for Dartmouth last year and has one year left.

(16). Charlie Katona of Shakopee/ Minnesota Fury . Charlie is in year five at UMD where he has been a double figures scorers since day one for the Bulldogs. He is going for a third straight all league honor this year.

(17) Austin Andrews of Eden Prairie/ D1 Minnesota . Another 5th year UMD guy, Austin Andrews is going to play next to Charlie for the 5th straight season. Austin averaged 9.7 points and five rebounds a game last year. His top season was his sophomore year when he averaged 18 points and nine boards a game.

(18) John Henry of Eden Prairie/Sioux Falls. Signed with USF, left the team, not sure if he ever played basketball in college ever as he left the team early in his career.

(19) Cameron Steele of Minnetonka/ Minnesota Fury . Cameron played his four years at Abilene Christian shooting 39 percent for his career at the three point line with a career high of nine points per game average. He's graduated and moved into the professional world.

(20) Agwa Nywesh of Austin/ Minnesota Heat . Scored 13 points a game at NDSCS for his career there and is now averaging 14 points per game at Valley City State entering his final year there.

Five More

(23) Curtis Jones of CDH/Minnesota Mentality. Curtis had a great year at a junc out of high school, scored 15 a game at Buffalo his second season there (after playing a small role his first year, meaning he really earned his way into time), and then averaged 11 a game shooting 35 percent at the arc for Iowa State last year. Has one more year at Iowa State.

(25) Tyree Ihenacho of Prior Lake/ Minnesota Select . Tyree has gone from UND to James Madison back to UND to committing to Wyoming to de-commiting from Wyoming to heading to Washington for his final year. Last year at UND he went from averaging four points per game at JMU to 14.5 at UND! A career five rebounds a game guy too.

(34) PJ Hayes of Waconia/Minnesota Comets DLR (2nd team). Hayes is one of the best stories on here. PJ went from being a central figure of the SD School of Mines division two run to scoring 10.5 a game at San Diego last year to scoring 13 a game last night for Rutgers in their first exhibition game.

(38) Puoch Duboul of St. Cloud Apollo/Inspired Athletics. Duboul first went to a pair of prep schools for the 2020-21 year, then went to Odessa CC in Texas for the 21-22 year where he scored 1.5 points a game as a freshman, to playing at LSU-Eunice in 2022-23 which I think is a D2 but they don't have any stats posted from the last five seasons (and he must have only played one year in the past two seasons). Now Duboul is at Southern University making his D1 debut as a junior this year.

(39) Henry Abraham of Cambridge/ Howard Pulley . Henry averaged six points a game in his two years ago East Illinois and then last year averaged just under two points a game for Coastal Carolina. He has one year left at Coastal.
