Dawson-Boyd won the North, the South was won by Minneota. How will things look in 2024-25? We have a look today!

Last Year

On the Money: Everything was pretty close although some of it was very obvious so take that how you may.

Yikes RJ! MACCRAY was better than we expected as we had them in the bottom three and they finished second in the league.

Conference Commentary

Top Ten in State: Dawson-Boyd

Dawson-Boyd not only has talented frontcourt players back but they also have a guard in [player_tooltip player_id='2509491' first='Gunnar' last='Liebl'] that scored 18 a game last year and is now entering his upperclassmen years. They are a top state title contender.

Top Ten in State Potential: Central Minnesota Christia , Tracy-Milroy-Balaton

CMC has three all league players back from a team that won 19 games. CMC has a chance to push to the top ten if they gel well. Tracy-Milroy-Balaton has two all league guards back and they have a change to have a special season led by those guards.

Compete with Most: MACCRAY, LQPV, Minneota, Renville County West, Lakeview

With three rotation players back including a pair of guys that scored seven points a game, MACCRAY will be a solid team. LQPV won ten games and has an all league player returning. Minneota won the South with a great year, but they lost four all league honored players to graduation. There are still three solid players returning though. Renville County West lost two starters but has everything else back including [player_tooltip player_id='2620244' first='Ryan' last='Schrupp'] who is one of the best players in the league. Lakeview was a bad team last year winning just five games but they have their best two guys back so they should take a step forward.

Rebuilding: Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunberg, Orontville, Canby, Yellow Medicine East

KMS has one guy back but everybody else will be new from a 15 win team. Orontville should be better this year, they didn't win much so they need to do that before the rebuilding moves to competing but that could be this year. Canby won 15 games last year but lost five of their top six guys to graduation. Yellow Medicine East was one of the worst teams in the league and they lost their best players.
