Preseason Player of the Year: 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1765520' first='Cooper' last='Grimm'] (Center Point-Urbana)

The race for POY in the East Division figures to be an interesting one, as you could make a good argument for any of the five players on the first team here. We'll give the edge to Grimm, the athletic, skilled wing from Center Point-Urbana, who probably has the highest upside of any player in the division.

2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1765520' first='Cooper' last='Grimm'] (Center Point-Urbana): 11.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists

Grimm looks like a player who is primed to have a breakout junior year after putting together a really nice sophomore season and a strong summer. He's a long, lanky wing who can score from all three levels, create for his teammates, and contribute on the glass on both ends of the floor.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1402185' first='Austin' last='Goodrich'] (Marion): 12.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals, 38.0 3P%

Goodrich was the Wolves' most reliable 3-point shooting threat last season, burying 38% of his attempts from behind the arc while ranking second on the team in scoring. He'll have the ball in his hands quite a bit as a senior following the graduations of two of their top three scorers.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1874777' first='Griffin' last='Lott'] (West Delaware): 11.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists

The Hawks should be one of the most improved teams in the WaMaC this season, and Lott, their leading scorer from last year, will be a big part of that expected improvement. He's capable of scoring from all three levels but is at his best when he's getting to the bucket.

2026 [player_tooltip player_id='2413532' first='Kellen' last='Haverback'] (Mount Vernon): 10.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.8 steals

Haverback was impressive as a sophomore for the Mustangs, showing a lot of potential as a wing scorer and playmaker. He led the 'Stangs in assists and had some nice scoring games.

2025 Josef Briesemeister (Mount Vernon): 10.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists

A big 6-6 forward with soft hands and good touch around the rim, Briesemeister provides some needed size and toughness in the frontcourt for Mount Vernon. He'll pair with Haverback to give them a solid one-two punch.
