Preseason Player of the Year: 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='2617504' first='Grayson' last='Wollum'] (Lisbon)

This is one of the most interesting POY races among all small school conferences. You've got the state's leading returning scorer ([player_tooltip player_id='1759934' first='Hakeal' last='Powell']), a really good all-around player from last year's 1A runner-up ([player_tooltip player_id='1759939' first='Spencer' last='Roeder']), and then you have Wollum, who put up huge numbers last season and looks like he has only continued to improve. Lisbon may not be the team to beat in the division, but I think Wollum is the best player in the division this year.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='2617504' first='Grayson' last='Wollum'] (Lisbon): 16.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.4 steals, 1.6 blocks, 52.5 FG%, 41.0 3P%

Wollum was one of the best players in the gym at our Prep Hoops Expo, showcasing his eye-popping athleticism at 6-8. He's a skilled passer and playmaker with great vision, a versatile defender, and a dominant scorer inside and out. He looks like he's primed to have a massive senior year.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1759934' first='Hakeal' last='Powell'] (Prince of Peace): 27.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 3.6 steals, 38.4 3P%

The state's leading returning scorer, Powell can fill it up from all three levels in a hurry. He's one of the best in 1A basketball at playing downhill, using his handles and quickness to attack the rim and put constant pressure on opposing defenses. But he has really improved as a shooter, knocking down 38.4% of his 3-point attempts as a junior for the Irish.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1759939' first='Spencer' last='Roeder'] (Marquette Catholic): 16.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 2.2 steals, 50.4 FG%, 80.3 FT%

Anyone who has read PHIA over the last few years knows how big of a fan I am of Roeder, and he should be sensational again as a senior leader for the Defenders. His ability to score from all three levels, as well as control the game as both a playmaker and defender, make him one of the most difficult matchups in the class.

2025 Daylin Schaefer (Lisbon): 12.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.2 steals

Schaefer was impressive as a junior for the Lions, ranking third in scoring and assists, and second in rebounding. He has good size and length, and is an active defender who can provide some versatility.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='2511527' first='Eli' last='Scott'] (Marquette Catholic): 11.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.8 steals

A lightning-quick guard who can blow by defenders and get to the rim, Scott is a terror for opposing guards with his combination of ball-handling, vision, and speed. He's a good defender with quick hands and feet, and he routinely makes big, tough shots.
