2. Niagara -- The Badgers made a big movement upward a year ago, going from 13 two years ago to 17 last winter. Coach Terry Youren hopes for another step forward this time around behind the return of some of the most talented players in the league. Senior wing

3. Coleman -- After six consecutive seasons of finishing well above the .500 level, Coleman slipped to a 9-16 mark a year ago. Jeff Bronson's crew figures to make its way over the break even point in 2024-25 as four starters return, including talented seniors

4. Gillett -- Russ Young has done a marvelous job of making Gillett a player again in the Marinette & Oconto over the past four seasons. The Tigers reached their best finish in years last winter, going 14-2 in league play and 19-8 overall. Just one starter is back, but he's perhaps the best player in the league. Senior guard

Also back for Gillett are senior Ryan Pensis (5-11, 2.5 ppg) along with juniors Nash Stage (5-10), Bradyn Wendorff (5-10) and Jedric Herzog (6-1).
5. Wausaukee -- Five players with plenty of varsity experience are back for coach Jon Betts at Wausaukee. The Rangers have a pair of potential all-league performers in senior Kayden Suennen (5-10, 9.0 ppg, 2.2 rpg) and junior

6. Saint Thomas Aquinas -- The number of solid teams in the Marinette & Oconto in 2024-25 appears to be pretty strong as clubs like Saint Thomas Aquinas, Oneida Nation, Suring and Lena could all pull some surprises. The Cavaliers, who enter year No. 4 under coach Jack Farley, have four starters back from a 9-14 squad. Leading the way is senior guard

Regal was the coach at Suring for some of the better teams in school history before stepping down several years ago. He replaces Joseph Lojpersberger and takes over a club that welcomes back senior guard Michael Bailey (5-11, 7.1 ppg) and sophomore forward Taylor Booth Stoffregen (6-1, 5.6 ppg).
9. Lena -- Justin Heimke takes over the coaching duties at Lena and has three returning starters from a club that went 5-20 in seniors

Guard play is a big asset for Lena, which could also get a lift in the paint from junior Zander Thomson (6-4, 2.1 ppg). Senior Caleb Schlosser (6-0, 7.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg) also could play a big role for the Wildcats.
