October 18-20 I attended the annual Border League in Nevada located at various gyms around the city. I watched three days full of action-packed games versus some top prep and AIA teams from around the country.

Here are some Newcomers or Off the Radar players

[player_tooltip player_id='2625965' first='Kaii' last='Voogd'] San Tan Charter (Pictured)

A longer and talented wing forward has a nice frame and can defend and score. He is just scratching the surface of his potential and he can be a bigger wing down the road. He is fluid in transition to score, he can get downhill and shoot it from the perimeter. The 2A powerhouse added another stud.

[player_tooltip player_id='2627313' first='Max' last='Rehl'] Notre Dame Prep

A transfer last year by way of Brophy Prep and is getting some early run to start this season. He brings some nice size and physicality. He rebounds at a good clip, runs the floor and will drive the lane and score thru contact.

[player_tooltip player_id='1583466' first='Jaelon' last='Germany'] Millennium

A Texas transfer moved in and will provide immediate depth for the talented 6A team. He handles it well and can play the PG spot or off the ball. He rises up high on his jumpers and he is a fluid athlete who can get downhill. He will rebound in his area and bring a scoring punch off the bench.

[player_tooltip player_id='2627316' first='John' last='Machar'] Skyline Prep/AZ

A tall, long and very lean face-up forward. He can rattle in three point shots with a nice looking stroke. He uses his size to his advantage and will score on hook shots, run the floor and rebound in his area.

[player_tooltip player_id='2107122' first='Sami' last='Sibai'] Notre Dame Prep

The undersized point guard will be a big asset to have as a change of pace to Quinet and co. He is very quick with the ball in his hands and can score with catch threes and guide the offense when Quinet does not have the ball in his hands. He has a quick burst to the basket with contact drives despite his size.

[player_tooltip player_id='1950101' first='Koi' last='Sharpe'] Mesa

The top glue guy for the Jackrabbits is Sharpe. He runs the court, gets on the glass for offensive rebound put backs, scores in transition and will defend multiple positions for them. He is tough and will rebound over taller players consistently.

Sharpe is a great compliment to their skilled guards. He will often do the dirty work plus score.

[player_tooltip player_id='2457857' first='Jarren' last='Galarza'] Mesa

Galarza is one of their shooters who always seems to be shot ready. He has a high feel and is always moving without the ball. He is best as a catch shooter from the three point line and and can pull-up from mid.

[player_tooltip player_id='1469397' first='Kylen' last='Bonner'] San Tan Charter

The lone senior will provide immediate experience and savvy to the court every game. He will defend with his long arms and twitch but he is on the court to space it out with his catch three point shooting, which is becoming more and more consistent.

[player_tooltip player_id='1571923' first='Koreon' last='Head'] Ironwood

An active defensive minded guard. He is a good passer and a long very twitchy defender. He can score around the basket and hit the catch three and use a quick burst to the basket. His first step puts pressure on the defense and he will get to the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2314614' first='Powell' last='Perkins'] Notre Dame Prep

A good sized sophomore who was a stud JV player last year will provide depth at a very important position up front. He runs the floor, rebounds the ball at a good clip and defends in space. He seems to have made a leap with his fluidity in the last year.
