October 18-20 I attended the annual Border League in Nevada located at various gyms around the city. I watched three days full of action-packed games versus some top prep and AIA teams from around the country.

Here are some Senior Standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='2551864' first='Mouhamed' last='Sylla'] Bella Vista Prep CIA NIKE/AZ (Pictured-Courtesy of Greg Stein)

A fierce post presence is a shot blocker and rim runner. He scores with jump hook shots, power moves and dunks. He had one plays he ran down the court with grace and speed with the ball in his hands like the Greek Freak. He dunks everything and plays with a huge motor diving on the floor and hustling for loose balls. He tracks the ball well and grabs it at its highest point to rebound or block shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1422770' first='Nicholas' last='Randall'] AZ Compass Prep

A thicker forward is steadily improving. He takes up a lot of space and sores inside and rebounds with his frame and soft hands. He has a nice free throw touch as the ball spins well and will hit the 3 with some success. He is nimble for his weight and can rim run and showed energy off the bench playing behind Miikka. He verbally committed to Missouri.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150843' first='Andrew' last='Bhesania'] Boulder Creek

A good sized power forward can shoot the three off the catch, dribble drive to the basket and handle it up the court. He will spin off his defenders to the basket, dunk it easily inside and was rebounding out of area. He changes speeds to the basket to score with reverse layups and can slip to the basket and throw it down.

[player_tooltip player_id='2302768' first='Hayden' last='Stebbins'] Notre Dame Prep

A top standstill 3pt shooter from Scottsdale. He catches and shoots it in a blink of an eye. He moves off the ball with cuts for layups and he gets the ball out of his hands before the defense closes out. He is strong, highly skilled and smart. He had nearly 20 points with 5+ triples.

[player_tooltip player_id='996176' first='Bryce' last='Quinet'] Notre Dame Prep

The Evansville commit actually got injured and came back in to play showing his toughness. He will have many hats this season being the top rebounder and facilitator and scoring the most points. He is quick getting downhill, backing his defenders down in the high post and going to work with deceptively quick drives. He is so poised and calm and keeps his dribble alive until the last second to score or facilitate. He may of had close to 30 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1354953' first='I'yar' last='Shadowvine'] Ironwood

The true leader of the West Valley 5A team. He may be small but scores it every way with blow-by speed to get to the rack and kiss it high off the glass, score on mid-range jumpers off the dribble and catch threes in bunches. He also finds players in tight spaces.

[player_tooltip player_id='1301344' first='Kingston' last='Tosi'] Millennium

One of the top performers of the weekend keeps ascending up. He is super versatile to score it every single way. He is a high level rebounder and his motor is very high to rebound and score thru contact. He will score with alley-oops, catch threes and from mid-range. He verbally committed to Utah State.

[player_tooltip player_id='1225317' first='Jeremiah' last='Green'] AZ Compass Prep

A top of the food chain on-ball defender is fast, tough and quick to bother opposing guards up the court. He ripped some pockets and will dunk the ball the other way. He uses his quickness to get downhill and will finish it off with the floater game and contact drives. He verbally committed to Texas A&M.

[player_tooltip player_id='1237854' first='Jaion' last='Pitt'] Bella Vista Prep CIA NIKE

A high motored power forward came in off the bench as a top-notch bench player. He stays very active in the passing lanes and cleans the glass with his long arms and athleticism. He scores it inside with quick spins and counter moves.

[player_tooltip player_id='1735336' first='Michael' last='Johnson'] Highland

The top scoring senior guard for the Hawks is Johnson. He is very confident to score it with changing speeds to get downhill and he will get hot quickly from deep. He will rattle in threes off the catch with a quick shooting release. He will smartly take a charge and give up his body on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1485542' first='Davis' last='Fogle'] AZ Compass Prep

A versatile all-around wing who showed off his many talents. He can pull-up off the dribble, which seems to be his sweet spot, he will crab dribble into a floater in the paint, spin to the basket and shoot it from the high post. He is great in transition and finds players easily with his advanced court vision and size. He verbally committed to Gonzaga.

[player_tooltip player_id='996764' first='Brennan' last='Peterson'] Dream City Christian

One of the top shooters of the team plays with a huge IQ for the game and a big feel. He smartly moves without the ball and will rattle in catch threes after he gets his feet set. He has such an easy shooting stroke and makes good reads to teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='1411646' first='Ifaola' last='Fawaz Tacko'] Dream City Christian

A massive defensive force with a pro-like big frame. He lives around the rim and on the glass to gobble up balls and block shots in bunches. He scores on offensive rebound put backs and dunks. He is highly coveted as he is a rare 'true center'. He verbally committed to Colorado.
