2027 Rankings: Sleeper Guards

Here's a six-pack of guards further down the rankings that have really impressed us with their play through the offseason. These guys have laid out some solid foundations to build on and could be some risers in the next update.    Vaughn is a nice hidden gem out at Reardan who really popped up on our radar at the Sophomore ID Camp. He's a scoring guard who is always ready to go, can knock down the outside shot but also makes some great reads around the paint to get the edge on his man. He has a variety of finishes to go to, and also shows great footwork both getting downhill and playing off of two. Good hustler and looks like a gamer who should play big this year for Reardan.     Kearney is an emerging shooter to know out of Chief Sealth High School. He's shown a proficiency from deep that should keep him rising the ranks at this rate. He can hit from any spot around the arc, off the catch, creating space with a quick move, and has the ability to get shots off quickly because he is always ready to shoot.     Buol's got some nice slashing ability and pairs it well with his ability to knock down shots in the midrange. He's aggressive looking to split defenders, attack gaps, and often succeeds with a quick initial burst and some good footwork. He's capable of finishing in multiple ways, stretching around contests, mixing up timing of shots, and keeping defenders off-kilter with good balance and body control.     Roberts is another super solid guard from Mount Si who pairs skill with some heady play. He makes plays in transition, in the half, with or without the ball, and brings some scrappiness to the floor. He's a guy who looks to make the right play and already shows some understanding of what it takes to be a successful point guard with his toughness, ability to hit from deep, and his patience with the rock.     Mims is a solid player who uses good hesitations and ball fakes to free up space and create angles on the outside. He's got a little handle and knows how to set his man up from possession to possession which allows him to get paint touches and collapse the defense. He'll be a kid to watch at Skyview over the next couple of years.
