At the end of March we had 150 players to rank for the 2027 class and we are now at 185.

40 players are new and some have moved to different states, focused on different sports, and went into the 2026 or 2028 class.

Of the 40 new players, 6 fell in the top-25, 15 in the top-50 and 25 in the top-100. The other 15 fell in the top 185.

This means some of the players saw their stock drop at least 15-25 spots in the rankings.

The Prep schools are slowly coming into the 2027 class rankings and players in traditional schools will definitely be compared to them and have to show they are just as good to be on the minds of the college coaches and scouts during the AIA season.

Our goal at PrepHoopsAZ is to try and recognize anyone who may play college basketball. We will keep searching for new players in preseason camps/events/leagues/Prep Hoops Circuit, Arizona Top-250 EXPO, my personal Southwest Basketball Camp and during the AIA/CAA/OTE/EYBL/EIBC/Grind Session seasons.

1. 10+ players have earned a D1 offer showing this class has talent including [player_tooltip player_id='1555180' first='Delton' last='Prescott III'].

2. 6 players are nationally ranked already including [player_tooltip player_id='2197693' first='Chris' last='Brown'].

3. [player_tooltip player_id='1555179' first='Darius' last='Wabbington'] of Sunnyslope was part of the Team USA participants.

4. 6 of the Top-13 ranked players are all from Bella Vista Prep including [player_tooltip player_id='2573957' first='Amari' last='Upshaw'] and 9 of the top-60. A youth movement for the prep team.

5. It is an interesting class where the 'big size' of the class at the top is close to elite but overall only 32 total PF/C's out of 185. A very rich class of guards with 121 of the 180 total players including 59 PG's. So, if you are a guard in the class, that means you have to do something better than your competition. Whether that is on the defensive side or shoot it or be that pure PG better than your peers.

6. Rankings are based on a lot of things. Production, size for position, college coaches, the eye test, ability to score and defend, instincts, IQ, how a player moves, speed, ball handling, shooting, fundamentals. length and possible upside. It is not the easiest thing to do since not all players play in the same leagues for AAU and HS. They can be in the CAA, Grind Session, EIBC, OTE and the AIA obviously has different levels. Plus AAU teams may play on National Circuits (3SSB, UAA and EYBL) or play on independent or up and coming circuits (Pangos, NxtPro, EYCL, UAA Rise, Prep Hoops, WCE, New Balance, The Stage and so on). So you put all that information together and create the rankings.

7. Of the 185 players we have 59 PG's, 32 SG's, 30 CG's, 32 SF's, 22 PF's and 10 C's.
