November is only a couple of days away, meaning the high school basketball season is on the horizon. The 2027 class is primed to make a big impact this season, especially in the backcourt. Here are the 2027 independent school point guards to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2202022' first='Anthony' last='Mauro'], 6'1 College Achieve

Mauro is one of the top prospects in the 2027 class and will look to put it on display this season. The 6'1 lefty plays with poise on the ball as he knows how to get to his spot on the floor and rarely gets rattled by on-ball pressure. Mauro is a crafty finisher around the basket and has a good release on his jumper. He plays with good anticipation on the defensive end and can find his open teammates in the halfcourt. Mauro picked up three D1 offers this summer and should expand that offer sheet this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2344520' first='Noah' last='Johnson'], 6'0 Pennington

Johnson is a true floor general and will be one to watch throughout the course of the season. The 6'0 guard threads passes to teammates in the halfcourt and rarely makes bad decisions with the ball in his hands. Johnson uses his handle to blow by his defender off the bounce and finishes nicely around the basket. He is a solid rebounder and slides his feet on the defensive end. Johnson's ability to run the offense efficiently is something that will help his stock this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1454276' first='Blake' last='Hargrove'], 6'0 Hun

Hargrove transferred into Hun from out of state and is slated to make an immediate impact. The 6'0 guard has a clean release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Hargrove can shoot either off the catch or dribble and sets his feet before he shoots. He is an underrated passer and can get deflections on the defensive end. Hargrove is a sharpshooting guard prospect who should torch the nets from distance this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2623153' first='Jordan' last='Moton'], 6'2 Peddie

Moton transferred to Peddie from Pennington and will be looking to make an impact right away. The 6'2 guard has a good first step, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finishes nicely around the basket. Moton can also score in the mid-range and uses his size to see over his defender. He has the length to defend both backcourt spots and can also play off the ball. Moton is a gritty guard prospect whose ability to make plays with the ball in his hands will help his development throughout the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2202023' first='Frankie' last='Hoynowski'], 6'1 College Achieve

Hoynowski has the ability to play on and off the ball, which makes him a guard prospect to track. The 6'1 guard uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and can finish through contact. Hoynowski is more than just a slasher as he wastes little motion in his release and makes opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He is a tough on-ball defender and moves well without the ball in his hands. Hoynowski is a hard-working guard prospect who should make plays at both ends of the floor this winter.
