Breyden is on a path towards college baseball excellence. He currently pitches and plays first base almost year-round. Turnage's basketball game is quite advanced for a high school big. He could play college basketball, if he chooses that path. Belmont evaluated him in-person last fall. They would not have wasted their time and money to travel out to Dyersburg for a lackluster talent. Turnage is imposing and skilled at both sports.

#169 [player_tooltip player_id='1367876' first='Logan' last='Lorenz'] (Greenbrier)

Logan is another big, strong dude. He plays football and basketball. With football, Lorenz is an offensive lineman.

#182 [player_tooltip player_id='1847265' first='Stephon' last='Shivers'] (Brentwood Academy)

[player_tooltip player_id='1847265' first='Stephon' last='Shivers'] helped Humboldt High advance to the basketball State Tournament in 2023. Shivers was insanely athletic and strong early in his high school bball career. Alas, football requested he put on a lot of weight to play defensive lineman. It limits his mobility some as a hooper. He looked like a young Anthony Mason during his freshman and sophomore hoop season. Last March Shivers verbally committed to Georgia football. Yeah, he is that kinda talent.

#185 [player_tooltip player_id='1549189' first='Max' last='Burtner'] (Hillsboro)

The son of Belmont University Athletic Hall of Famer Wes Burtner, Max is looking to play college hoops. [player_tooltip player_id='1549189' first='Max' last='Burtner'] was offered by Carolina University in early September.

Known for his outside shooting prowess, Wes Burtner ranks among Belmont's career leaders in virtually every offensive category. His 1,833 points and 326 three-point field goals stood as the Bruins' NCAA standard for over a decade until eclipsed by All-American Ian Clark in 2013.

Named Second Team All-Atlantic Sun as a senior, Wes Burtner was a two-time Academic All-America selection and the 2002 National Student-Athlete of the Year.

Max ran with the [program_tooltip program_id='2078775' first='Tennessee' last='Tigers'] 17u squad this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1549189' first='Max' last='Burtner'] entered 2023-2024 as the big in Hillsboro's strong starting five. He was kind of a face-up four, but also operated under the halo. Max is definitely capable of hitting three-pointers when his feet are set.

#203 [player_tooltip player_id='2148404' first='Nowah' last='Porter'] (Camden Central) is up to 6-foot-6. He gives Camden Central strength and court balance. Porter's years of weightroom work show. Facing Dayspring Academy last November Porter outran the opposing guards and finished off several fastbreaks. Porter's transition offense was solid in that game though he can always improve with off-season speed training. Agility around the rim is ok. Can he play with his back-to-the-basket? That single game did not require him to try. Porter is a player that PrepHoopsTN needs to watch more often to get a fair read. Still, his power and size are extremely rare in the high school game at the Class 2A level.
