So Cal Fall Prep Classic Pt I

PH NorCal took flight to SoCal for the So Cal Fall Prep Classic at Santiago Canyon College, in Orange, Ca. NorCal had 6 or 7 teams playing, but before we get to NorCal. We watched a few team from So Cal, and Utah. Here's some names to know from SoCal along with our NorCal standouts.    The athletic guard was all over the court. He effects the game on both sides, with his speed, quick hands, and lateral movements. He kept ball handlers under constant pressure, generating turnovers. His handles and quickness allows him to go by defenders, for short jumpers, and challenge at the rim with dunks on occasion. He has plenty of hops for dunks, and rebounds.     He's a strong athletic big guard, he can play 1-3 positions at this level. He has the handles to attack the rim from different areas on the court. He had strong baseline moves. He dropped a couple 3's off the dribble. He has the body and strength to defend multiple positions, haul in rebounds, take off, and be hard to contain in transition.     At first glance standing around 6'3 you see a thick body who can handle his business in the post area, attacking with one, or two dribbles finishing strong taking on defenders at the rim, playing well off two and passing from the high post. He's got guard like handles, does well in transition, getting up court and finding mates for buckets, he'll finish with strong drives. He defends with strength, from perimeter to the post.     Lindsey had his full guard game going. He picked up the slack in scoring for a short handed Port City Team. He took on defenders using multiple moves and dribbles to get to where wanted to go, for drives and dishes. He had the mid-range off the dribble working. He put up open 3's along the perimeter. As usual he's an excellent on ball defender.     Knight's new a newcomer who's made progress over the Spring and Summer. It looks like he's found a way to be a contributor on this team. He has long strides, decent handles pushing it up court. At 6'3 he has lengthy arms, jumps well to get rebounds and come out with the dribble. He has lateral movement to stay with his man, he gets a hand up on shooters.     The solid body guard used his new and improving guard skills. He used his dribble to get to the basket handling contact, he knifed his way in a few times to finish with body control. When he puts up a 3ptr, he looks comfortable, good form, he got a couple to drop. He's a good rebounder, who can dribble out in transition. He's an improving defender out on the perimeter.     He's an aggressive guard that looks to get his points in different ways. He's aggressive going to the basket, he'll challenge bigger defenders in the paint, he doesn't shy away. He hits the mid-range jumper off the dribble from the free throw area. He'll use a dribble or two to hit 3's from the top.     Hunter has speed and quickness using his dribble to attack defenders, sometimes with quick crossovers, and long strides to get into the paint or pull-up. He seems to be more aggressive looking to get his points. He's lengthy with speed to be a good defender.     He's a ball handler and passer that does a solid job of getting the team going in half-court and transition. He's listed as a combo, but does well up top. He has speed in transition, and the dribble to go by defenders for drive and kicks, he sees the court to make the right passes up and around the perimeter. He's a tough defender with speed to stay on ball
